WAIVER The applicant is hereby informed that all credit distributed by TranscenDance Studios (TDS) Class Scholarship Program is done so at the sole discretion of TDS and that the determination of said distribution shall not be influenced by age, race, or creed. Distribution is determined by the applicant s dance audition and financial need. To qualify for credit, recipients are required to agree to a scholarship contract which ensures the responsibility of the recipient and the use of the credit for the purpose for which it is intended. TranscenDance Studios Class Scholarship Program Information & Requirements General Information Scholarships are awarded on the basis of both merit and financial need. Scholarship students must commit to a year-long program. Full Scholarship is valued in excess of $3,500. Partial Scholarship is valued in excess of $2,000. Scholarships are not transferable and not divisible among family members. Shoes, costumes and accessories are not included in the scholarship and are the sole responsibility of the student. Each grading period it is the responsibility of the dancer to submit a school grade report. Failure to submit a current grade report may result in withdrawal from the scholarship program. Failure to meet any of the below listed requirements including but not limited to positive attitude, dance class attendance, studio rules and regulations, school grades and attendance, recital volunteering, or fundraiser participation may result in withdrawal from the scholarship program. Dancers may be placed on a 1 month probation or immediately removed from the program depending on the violation. General Requirements: Have previous dance training & performance experience Be currently enrolled in school at grade 8 or above - college students welcome Complete a Class Scholarship Application Supply proof of income Attend the Scholarship Audition Winners agree to allow publication of the results of the scholarship selection and other related public relations communications and publications related to the scholarship. Winners must maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, follow all rules and regulations (such as dress code) and set a shining example for TDS dancers, school peers, and the local community. Studio Requirements: Study only at TranscenDance Studios with the exception of school dance teams, master classes, or workshops Assist at least 3 classes for full scholarship or 1 class for partial scholarship Be enrolled in at least 7 hours of class a week for full scholarship or at least 4 hours a week for partial scholarship Have no more than 7 absences per class for the entire year including summer Participate in all studio and TDS Company (non-profit youth ensemble) fundraisers whether company member or not Supply 1 family member or friend to volunteer at TranscenDance Studios recital in roles such as but not limited to: usher, ticket sales, merchandise sales, backstage supervisor, runner, tech School Requirements: Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (C+ average) and provide proof at every grading period.
