About FACT FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) is the UK s leading media arts centre, based in Liverpool. It is a space where people, art and technology meet. Since the opening of the award-winning building in 2003, FACT has welcomed nearly four million visitors, and every year over 300,000 people visit the three galleries, lab spaces, café, bar and four cinema screens. In 2016 FACT commissioned 18 new artworks, and presented 53 ambitious re-stagings of existing work. FACT s commissions and exhibitions also toured across the UK and to Australia, South Korea, Spain and France, resulting in 486,000 visits. Over the years, FACT has worked with internationally acclaimed artists, including Pipilotti Rist, Krzysztof Wodiczko, Weerasethakul Apichatpong, and Wu Tsang. FACT s critically acclaimed Learning Programme experiments with the notion of the art centre as an expanded classroom for lifelong learning, a space for critical dialogues, artistic experiences and intergenerational encounters. In 2018, the exhibitions and public programme are an invitation to play with FACT, celebrating a decade since Liverpool was European Capital of Culture. This feeds into FACT s mission to originate, articulate and present a programme of excellent innovative art through three keys strands: Exhibition & Public Programme, Learning, and Research & Innovation. About Invisible Flock Invisible Flock is an interactive arts studio based in Leeds, making groundbreaking innovative work to be experienced and participated in by thousands all over the world. Lille, Lagos Theatre Festival and Unbox India as well as collaborating with British Council, Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Wellcome Trust. About Rewire Rewire is a meditation on water and the future. It is an epic, sonic, spatial, elemental work made for the iconic Toxteth Reservoir in Liverpool, built in 1845 to hold and supply two million gallons of water to the people of Liverpool. Within the environment created at the reservoir, technology and magic will become indistinguishable. Employing bleeding edge technologies to conjure kinetic and digital landscapes, the work will exist as an investigation of the human body in space and nature. Rewire will explore, and bring to life a global world of water from those living at the forefront of climate change, the monsoons of India to the disappearing islands of Indonesia. Rewire will directly invite large audiences to experiment, play and imagine the future of water both here in Liverpool and around the world. Rewire is part of Liverpool 2018, a year long programme of cultural projects to mark the tenth anniversary of Liverpool being European Capital of Culture, welcoming international artists to collaborate in its creation. Rewire is a partnership between FACT, Culture Liverpool, Invisible Flock and Dingle 2000. An engagement programme alongside the making of the work will run from April 2018 inviting the communities surrounding the Reservoir to become an integral part of the project. Rewire will run from 19 September through to 7 October 2018.
