EAST OF ENGLAND DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2018 FRIDAY 15 JUNE 2018 THE COFFEE ROOM, JOCKEY CLUB ROOMS, NEWMARKET A celebration of leadership talent, success and achievement
The East of England Awards THE DIRECTOR of the Year Awards event in the East of England is a celebratory lunch held in the beautiful town of Newmarket. This area is chosen as it is the most central place for entrants and judges to reach from each of the 5 East of England branches (Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and Hertfordshire). For the past two years the lunch has been held at the stunning Jockey Club rooms, a historic and prestigious private members club filled with racing memorabilia. With a capacity for 120 guests the IoD plan to once again host the awards lunch in The Coffee Room at The Jockey Club Rooms. The Coffee Room is an architectural gem. It dates back to 1752 when the newly established Club decided to build a coffee house on the High Street following the fashion of the popular London coffee houses of the day. Three Georgian windows look out on to the impressive bronze of Classic Derby winner Hyperion, which creates an imposing backdrop for any event. Another treasured feature is the series of arched, private booths decorated with witty cut-outs of society figures by the famous Maxims caricaturist, George Goursat also known as SEM The Awards ceremony includes a brief welcome and introduction by the IoD East of England Regional Chairman and a welcome from the main sponsor. After a delicious 3 course meal, the winners of each award category are presented. In the past, our judges have said a few words about each finalist for a particular category before presenting the award. Following the presentation the winners are invited to have photographs taken in the beautiful grounds surrounding the venue. There is plenty of space for sponsor branding, including the entrance to the venue, on the lunch tables, within the event programme and on the awards themselves. Archant Media who produce the Life series of magazines (Norfolk Life, Suffolk Life, Essex Life and Hertfordshire Life) and Iliffe Media who produce newspapers and a business magazine are keen to media sponsor the 2018 IoD East of England Director of the Year Awards which provides additional branding opportunities for sponsors. The IoD East of England awards lunch is a prestigious event, hosted in an exclusive venue and is recognised as a must attend event for senior business people across the East of England.
