John Nicolades Chief Executive Officer, Bridge Housing Dr Jeanne Ng Director Group Sustainability, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited Marco Monaco Audit Leader, Audit Office of New South Wales Marnie Reid Head of Shareholder Services, AMP Limited John Nicolades will talk about the importance of transparency and accountability in providing a core foundation upon which organisations, not for profit, government and private sector alike, are able to build on. Such a foundation is critical to securing a social licence to operate and maintain trust in an era when trust in institutions and organisations is steadily eroding. John has extensive senior level experience in government and the not-for-profit sector. Since 2006, he has transformed Bridge Housing, a not-for-profit providing affordable accommodation for low and moderate-income people, by increasing its housing portfolio from 650 to more than 2000 properties and accommodating over 3,000 people; increasing staff from eight to 60; and growing turnover to $37M. John believes transparent reporting is the basis of public accountability and trust. Bridge Housing commenced its transparency journey in 2011. Through continuous improvement in reporting it has achieved Gold Awards each year since 2013 and has twice been nominated for the ARA Report of the Year Award. Securing and maintaining the trust of stakeholders is a key ingredient for business success. As the use of social media continues to expand, protecting a company s reputation by publishing the factual version of challenges before others do is becoming increasingly important,. Done well, such corporate reporting in addition to reports on performance and achievements can increase brand value, and support internal communications. Marco Monarco is a Chartered Accountant with vast experience in reporting in the public sector. As Head of Shareholder Services for AMP Limited Marnie Reid has focussed on the many challenges of communicating with the third largest shareholder base in Australia for more than 15 years. Along the way she has worked on mergers, demergers, capital raisings, capital returns, share sales and twenty plus AGMs.
