The women of Alpha Omicron Pi teamed up with popular pizzeria Woodstocks, where they have agreed to donate twenty five percent of all proceeds received on February 8th to the Red Cross. Delta Delta Delta currently has a coin drive on campus, and is also working to create care packages consisting of medical items to send to Haiti. Alpha Phi has been collecting shoes to send as well. Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Kappa and Alpha Omicron Pi also put on a bake sale and raised over 500 dollars! Panhellenic Exec and House Presidents in Cambria From January 22nd to January 24th, the Panhellenic, IFC, and USFC boards, as well as the Presidents from all the houses, came together in Cambria for a weekend of brainstorming for the upcoming year. While staying in cabins right on the beach, we talked about the importance of increasing attendance at philantropic events, including events for different houses. We also discussed ways to increase positivity and communication for everyone. Along with the great efforts to support Haiti this quarter, we have also seen some exciting events unfold as houses plan their sister twisters. With very high expectations for the quarter and the year, we have already seen incredible efforts and outcomes from all the houses. The end of this quarter and the start of a new one brings excitement as we plan events, philanthropies, and get ready for Greek Week! As one of the largest Greek systems in the state, we should all be proud to be Cal Poly Greeks! Lets keep up the spirit as we finish winter quarter and roll into Spring! KAQ Kappa Alpha Theta Kappa Alpha Theta has so many great things to look forward to this quarter, as well as for the upcoming year! From community service days to exchanges to Sunday morning brunches, Thetas are loving Greek life at Cal Poly. We have some big events planned for spring quarter that we are really excited about! These events will be open to not only Greek life and Cal Poly students, but also the SLO community. Our goals are to make a bigger impact in the Greek community, as well as in the Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo community. As a Chapter, we hold the possibility to do great things and extend our influence, and we plan on doing just that as the year progresses. We have also been working on strengthening the bonds of Theta sisterhood by promoting more sisterhood events and radiating the excitement and honor of being a Theta! There has never been a better time to be a Theta! Cal Poly Fast Fact: Cal Poly captured medals with each of the four 2007 wines it entered in the 2009 San Francisco International Wine Competition. 3

CW Chi Omega After months of searching and hard work from our House Corporation, the women of Chi Omega are so excited to have a house to call our own! Although in the beginning it seemed like a dream come true, we had a lot of work to do on our house in order for it to fit our needs before fall recruitment. Over the summer our house was completely gutted and refurbished to create open areas for future events. We all waited anxiously for the house to be complete as we counted down the days until recruitment began. Our house was done in the nick of time, precisely the day before house tours day! The finished product is beautiful and we have loved making so many memories in our house! Come visit us on 700 Grand Avenue! 4 Greek Fast Fact: Both women elected to the U.S. Supreme Court were sorority members.

GFB Gamma Phi Beta Gamma Phi Beta held its annual philanthropy event, Gamma Phi Beta House of Pancakes (GHOP), on November 15, 2009. The sisters of Gamma Phi Beta were divided into different committees, each in which were responsible for a separate task. These committees included pancake-making, decorations, tables and chairs set-up, parking directors, eating contest, and more. Girls arrived at the house as early as 7 A.M. to start preparing for the event. Since GHOP was held a week after Big/Lil Sis Revealing, each little made her big a personalized apron to wear during the event. Nine fraternities participated in the annual eating contest, where each participant raced against one another to see who could finish a stack of pancakes first. The winning fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha, will receive a BBQ/pool party with Gamma Phi Beta. With approximately 300 attendees, in which each received two pancakes, over 600 pancakes were made and sold. GHOP was a huge success with lots of support from the San Luis Obispo community, including boys and girls from the local Campfire USA, who were given GHOP t-shirts to take home. Greek Fast Fact: Following graduation, Greek-affiliated alumni have higher average incomes than non-greek alumni. 5

ACW Alpha Chi Omega It has been a busy and great quarter already for Alpha Chi Omega. We kicked off the New Year by participating in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and the Food Drive on January 16th. Members went door-to-door and dropped of bags to be filled with cans and other donated food items. It was a great way to spend the holiday and help the community. Next, Alpha Chi Omega headed to L.A. for the Price Is Right! Not only did we have a wonderful day of sisterhood, one of our girls was on the show! Tune in February 22nd to see how shedid! It has been an amazing quarter of fun and philanthropy so far, and we can t wait for everything else we have instore. We are now busy planning our annual philanthropy, SLO Bowl, that takes place in spring and benefits the San Luis Obispo Women s Shelter. Until then, we continue to help the community and strengthen our bond of sisterhood! 6 Cal Poly Fast Fact: Cal Poly ranked No. 3 in the nation in the 2009 Top 10 Surf Schools ranking by Surfline.com.

The Growing Grounds in San Luis Obispo, helps mentally ill adults gain job skills and confidence. We look forward to future efforts to raise money for the Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund. We will host a Woodstock s fundraiser February 8th from 5-8pm. We are also teaming up with Sigma Kappa and Gamma Phi Beta to raise money with a large-scale bake sale at two locations on Hathway and Foothill. In April we will host our 24th Annual Mr. Fraternity, a fun-filled event where the men of Cal Poly fraternities compete in a male Beauty Pageant. Mr. Fraternity raises money for our national philanthropy of arthritis research and will be hosted at The Graduate on April 28. We hope to see all of the San Luis Community there! During the fall quarter, we were very successful with our annual Cupcakes for Cures cupcake stand at Farmer s Market to benefit St. Jude Children s Research Hospital. Our sisters had a great time at our Oktoberfest exchange and Disney themed date party. This quarter, we are really looking forward to our semi-formal at the beginning of February and various other exchanges. We are also very excited for our annual Kickin it for Cures soccer tournament, benefiting St. Jude, at the end of February. We had a successful Winter Rush, recruiting seven new members to our Delta class! The ladies of Alpha Epsilon are looking forward to our sisterhood trip to San Francisco in February. SK Sigma Kappa With 40 new and fabulous girls initiated into our chapter, Sigma Kappa has had an enjoyable and successful fall quarter. We began the quarter with a good start during the annual Alzheimer s Memory walk, where we walked, painted faces, raised money, and indulged in delicious barbecue. Shortly after, we travelled out to Nipomo, where we helped pick acorns in order to save hundreds of trees. We have also been continuously visiting our favorite residents at the Manse on Marsh retirement home, sitting at dinner with them and joining in on Bingo nights. We plan to kick off winter quarter with the same energy, beginning with our annual designer jean sale in late February. This will take place on campus and will raise money for Alzheimer s research. In March, our girls will be applying as mentors for the local Big Bro, Big Sis foundation. As part of this program, we will also participate in an annual bowling tournament with the kids, as well as Disneyland s Give a Day, Take a Day. In preparation for a good spring, we will also be using this quarter to prepare for our anticipated Senior Prom at Manse on Marsh, a silent auction that we put on every year at the home. We hope to have an exciting quarter full of great community service, sisterhood, and social opportunities!
