INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL Founded in 1909, the North-American Interfraternity Conference is the trade association representing 75 International and National Men's Fraternities; approximately 5,500 chapters; over 800 campuses in the United States and Canada; and approximately 350,000 undergraduate members. Texas State has 15 of the 75 organizations represented. Multicultural Greek Council Established in 1998 The National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC) is an umbrella council for a coalition of Multicultural Greek-letter organizations (MGLOs). Texas State has 8 organizations represented on this council. Kick-Off Events at the beginning of the year Panhellenic Sorority Membership Recruitment (Structured Program September 5 th 8 th ) Open Houses to meet all of the sororities and learn about what makes each group special Sorority Bids are given out on September 9 th Continuous Open Recruitment (COR) Process IFC Fraternity Membership Recruitment (365 Recruitment) IFC Sponsored events to meet the men & to learn specific information about each fraternity Fraternity Bids/Membership Invitations extended to first-year men by each fraternity beginning on September 8 th and invitations are good for one year. After September 8 th fraternities are able to extend a bid to a potential member 365 days a year.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION Fees for Sororities &Fraternities Average Semester Dues $600-$1,200 Average New Member Fee $300-$600 Average Initiation Fee $300-$600 New Member/Initiation Fees are a one time expense. Most Fraternities/Sororities do not charge semester dues until after membership initiation. Many chapters offer payment plans. Chapter members living in Greek chapter houses pay a room & board rate (EACH FRATERNITY/SORORITY HOUSE VARIES) ASK QUESTIONS DURING RECRUITMENT EVENTS
