Infant Baptism Preparation Committee LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!! Looking for a joyous way to serve your church with a small amount of commitment? Consider the baptism committee! Our committee leads parents and their children through the Baptismal Sacrament at St. Aloysius. Team members are expected to assist with baptisms 3-4 times per year. Members also lead Sunday afternoon baptismal seminars 1-2 times per year. Seminars usually last about 45 minutes and the information to deliver at the seminar is fully provided. This is an excellent ministry for married couples wishing to serve together. Parishioners wanting to serve without their spouse are also welcome, as are single parishioners. The Baptism Committee meets only once per year for updates and training. This year s meeting is going to be Tuesday, October 29 from 7:00 8:00 p.m. Please contact Susan Andries if you are interested in attending or have any questions. (susanandries@bellsouth.net or 761-4497). Join us! We need you! Marriage Help Retrouvaille (pronounced retro-vi) has helped tens of thousands of couples at all stages of disillusionment or misery in their marriage. This program can help you too. Ministry Highlights Office Volunteers By: Angela Falgoust Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation ; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:6-8 Yes, we are all blessed with certain gifts. For the office volunteers, they come with varying abilities, in different age groups and most of all as in Romans, they come with cheerfulness. They are such a blessing to the office staff. These volunteers and the tasks they perform release the staff to do the professional tasks for which they were hired. During the recent Stewardship of Ministry men and women, young and old signed up. This ministry seems to attract retirees that have office experience, grandparents looking for a way to give back to the community, people looking for simple sitting down office work, mothers for some time away from their children, and students needing service hours or college students between classes and younger students during the summer months. While the office is in need of filing, shredding, mail-outs like Aloysius Alive, stuffing envelopes, putting labels on envelopes, using the copy machine and folding machine, the greatest need is volunteers with computer skills. We have contacted, welcomed and thanked those who have volunteered recently. They have received emails listing some of the tasks available with a request they indicate their interest and times available. The office staff is always looking for additional help, sometimes with little notice and we are grateful that we can usually find someone to help. If you are interested in becoming an Office Volunteer please call me at 343-6657 ext. 3031 or email at afalgoust@staloysiusparish.com. October 6, 2013 7 27th Sunday in OT
