CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION AND TARGET AUDIENCE This full-day course is designed to provide practical, clinical information for physicians, nurses and other medical professionals in the following specialties: Family Practice, General Practice, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Emergency Medicine, and Neurology by emphasizing pertinent or new information, newer approaches and disease recognition, diagnosis, and/or treatment planning. Conference participants will benefit through a presentation of didactic conference topics. These topics were specifically chosen to enhance the existing physician information base, improve clinical capabilities and increase the therapeutic options to the physician. This conference will focus on the changing healthcare environment, scientific validity of methodology in clinical practice as well as cost effectiveness and impact on patient outcomes in the areas of interest to medical professionals involved in the care of neurology related disorders. CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES At the end of the program, participants should be able to: Identify recent advances in clinical capabilities and therapeutic treatment options. Discuss the changing healthcare environment and scientific validity of methodology in clinic practice. Describe the cost effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment as it impacts patient outcomes. ACCREDITATION Physicians The Research and Education Institute for Texas Health Resources is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Research and Education Institute for Texas Health Resources designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The presentation, Ethical Issues In The Brain Damaged Patient, has been designated by The Research and Education Institute for Texas Health Resources for 1 hour of education in medical ethics and/or professional responsibility. This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 6 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Nurses 6.25 Contact Hours Provided. Presbyterian Healthcare System Patient Care Resources, is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. This activity meets Type I criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements toward relicensure as established by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. Must attend full day and turn in evaluation to receive contact hours.

No refund will be issued after this date or for non-attendance. There is no charge for a substitute registrant.
