2017-2018 EUREKA HIGH SCHOOL LOCAL AREA AND SCHOOL-SPONSORED GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS General Scholarship Sponsors Eureka Chamber of Commerce EHS Nursing Scholarship EHS PTO Scholarship Eureka Masonic Lodge Scholarship Eureka Lions Club Scholarship GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS All Applicants Must: Be a senior at Eureka High School and a candidate for graduation during the current school term. Be planning to attend an accredited college, university or technical school on a full-time basis. Be aware that planned career, scholastic ability, financial need, citizenship, and teacher evaluations (not necessarily in that order) will be major factors in selecting the scholarship recipient. Return application to Mrs. Esslinger in the Guidance Office by February 16th. Distribute teacher recommendation forms to three teachers you have had during the junior and/or senior year. Unless otherwise noted, all scholarships are non-renewable. SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS & SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTIONS Eureka Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Two $1000.00 Scholarships Applicant must live in the Eureka High School drawing area. Preference may be given to students with intended business related major in college. EHS Scholarship for Nursing One $2,500 scholarship/or Two $1,250.00. Must attend an approved nursing program, preferably in Missouri. EHS PTO Scholarship Scholarship finalists will be interviewed by the scholarship committee in March. Eureka Masonic Lodge Scholarship One $500 non-renewable scholarship. Applicant requirement is 3.0 minimum GPA Eureka Lions Club Scholarship Multiple scholarships with amounts to be determined. Applicant must have an accumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Participation in and support of activities within the Eureka Community will be considered. 1
Recipients Must: Use the scholarship for the payment of tuition and fees required for enrollment at an accredited college, university or technical school and/or fees and books required for course instruction. Present proof of enrollment (tuition bill) in an approved program at an accredited college, university or technical school to a designated representative of the scholarship no later than September 30 in order to receive the scholarship for that year. Notification Scholarship recipients will be announced at the awards ceremony for seniors on May 10 th at 6:00 p.m. 2
