CARRIED 3. 2012 HARMONY EXPRESSIVE ARTS GRANTS-IN-AID APPLICATION Report dated July 16, 2012 from the Director of Financial Services titled 2012 Harmony Expressive Arts Grants-in-Aid Application. S. Kurylo, Director of Financial Services provided information regarding the subject application, details of the organization and sources of funding, the organization s relationship with Sources, and how the grant would be utilized by the organization. Discussion ensued relative to grant applications received in the past to support staff wages and whether the Sub-Committee should be making contributions to staff wages through the grants program. It was MOVED and SECONDED THAT the Grants-In-Aid Sub-Committee receives for information the July 16, 2012 report from the Director of Financial Services titled 2012 Harmony Expressive Arts Grants-in-Aid Application. THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF WHITE ROCK CORPORATE REPORT DATE: September 6, 2012 TO: FROM: Grants-in-Aid Committee Sandra Kurylo, Director of Financial Services SUBJECT: 2012 Grants-in-Aid Late Applications RECOMMENDATION: THAT the Grants-In-Aid Committee: 1) receive for information the September 6, 2012 report from the Director of Financial Services titled 2012 Grants-in-Aid Late Applications ; and 2) make a recommendation to Council on the applications from the White Rock Justice Film Society and the White Rock Chinese Arts Centre. INTRODUCTION: This report deals with new grants-in-aid applications that have been received. PAST PRACTICE / POLICY: The City s criteria and process for dealing with grants-in-aid are provided in Council Policy No. 302. ANALYSIS: At this time $25,800 has been allocated to 30 organizations, which leaves $4,200 of the grantsin-aid budget currently available. Attached are applications recently received from the White Rock Justice Film Society and the White Rock Chinese Arts Centre. The White Rock Justice Film Society was granted $300 in 2011 and have not yet requested funding in 2012. The White Rock Chinese Arts Centre is working with the City for the first time in hosting a Moon Festival. CONCLUSION It is recommended that the Grants-in-Aid Committee make a recommendation to Council on these requests. AGENDA Page 4
