Dear Prospective Meter Mechanic, The Bureau of Standards will be holding the Annual Meter Mechanic Registration Clinics for 2018 (please reference the attached 2018 clinic schedule for dates and times). Pursuant to Section 525.07 (8)(a), Florida Statutes, all persons and service agencies that repair or install petroleum fuel measuring devices must register with the Department. This clinic is an annual mandatory requirement that forms part of registering as a Meter Mechanic. In addition to attending the annual clinic, all applicants are required to provide the following at the time of clinic attendance: An Application for Registration of Authorized Meter Mechanic, FDACS-03556 Rev. 12/12 Registration of Authorized Service Agencies, FDACS-03320 Rev. 12/12 A current Calibration Report for a test measure(s) of appropriate size according to the National institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Handbook 44, as adopted in subsection 5J-21. Sealing iron bearing the registered mechanics name or initials All new applicants must have proof of at least one year of experience working as a meter mechanic. If the applicant does not possess one year of experience, the applicant may work for a service agency that repairs or installs petroleum fuel, measuring devices that is currently registered with the Department.
