Understanding the stress on school budgets, Children s Health SM freely provided elementary schools with needed medical supplies through the Make It Better program to ensure every child is given the best care possible.

Dear Children s Health, I wanted to write a quick note of appreciation for the supplies that I recently received for our school from Children s Health. Budget restraints are a constant, especially in a very small school like ours. We are a private school so there is no public funding. Rightly so, fundraising efforts usually go to education, curriculum, technology, or athletics. Leaving very little left over for the school nurse. Your supplies of band- aids, ice packs, and tissues are a wonderful asset to our health clinic. I use all of the supplies daily. I also sent home with the students the information that you provided on flu. That was a valuable resource to send out to parents. The students especially love the band- aids that have the Children s logo with the red balloon. Again, thank you again for the generous gift of supplies. They are put to good use with our students each day. Sincerely, Sandra Sours, RN Health Services Carrollton Christian Academy 2205 E. Hebron Pkwy Carrollton, TX 75010 Ph. 972-242- 6688 Email: nurse@ccasaints.org Each school received shipments of the following: Communication Cards Band-aids Tissue Box Covers and Tissues Notepads Hand Sanitizers Hot/Cold Packs

communication cards Dear Children s Health, Thank you so much for the medical supplies from Children s Health! We are putting it all to good use. As you can imagine we go through dozens of band- aids per week. Your tissue box is being proudly displayed and used. I was able to use the fantastic cool packs as prizes at a blood pressure station I held at a recent school wide event. And as you can see from the pictures, the coloring pages are a hit. Thank you for supporting us in our service to our students through providing medical supplies! Sincerely, Jessica Haas, RN, BSN Wallace Elementary School Nurse jessica.haas@risd.org 469-593-2611

I just wanted to say thank you to Children s Health for the supplies donated to Forestridge Elementary school, Richardson ISD. The ice packs have been so helpful and convenient to use. Each teacher was supplied extra band aids to keep in their class, and of course the tissues were put to good use this flu season! Again, your donation was much appreciated. Patty Bressler BSN, RN Forestridge Elementary School Nurse 469-593- 8507 notepads

Thank you for the lovely box of gifts! I was able to distribute the boxes of Kleenex to several of my staff members who were out and needing more. Most parents are donated out at this point in the year, so donated supplies are hard to come by and the teachers and I often have to pay from our own pockets to purchase supplies for the rest of the year. I shared some of the hot/cold packs you sent with the two daycares that operate in my building after school hours. They are often in need of these items, and once I leave for the day, they don t have access to the supplies in my office. I was able to provide them with the supplies they needed to keep our kids safe after school. They were very appreciative, as am I. Sincerely, Sue Olson RN, BSN Boals Elementary School Nurse 2035 Jaguar Drive, Frisco TX 75033 Clinic Phone: (469) 633-3308 Clinic Fax: (469) 633-3375 I wanted to say thank you to Children s Health for all they do for my school and the Allen ISD school. As a Title 1 school, we depend on the generosity of others to get the supplies that are needed. Otherwise, teachers and nurses will take the money out of their own pockets to provide items for their classrooms and the clinic. Several personalized hand sanitizers were placed in each teacher s mail box (picture). All the kinder and 1 st grade teachers received a box of tissues. The clinic received several boxes of tissues and much needed band-aids. I am sure I am not mentioning everything I have received from Children s Health and I do apologize for that. But please know that I am so appreciative of everything. Again, thank you for your generosity. Terry Yoesting, RN BSN, MSN Boyd Elementary School Nurse 972-727- 0560 Terry_Yoesting@allenisd.org hand sanitizers

Dear Children s Health, We at All Saints Catholic School in Dallas, Texas thank you so much for the supplies we received. We were honored to be chosen. Here are some pictures of the children in first grade standing in front of the pictures they colored. Also have sent some of the original drawings to the name on your cover letter- Tanner Wild in Alpharetta, Georgia. These pictures were on our Facebook page also for the families of our school to see. hot/cold packs The ice packs are incredible and we are so happy they can also be used as warm packs. The kids love the color! We also love the Kleenex box and soft tissues. All the supplies are getting lots of use. Thanks again. Please consider us again should you do further drawings. communication cards Dear Children s Health, I just wanted to say thank you for the school supplies. Receiving these stock items really helps to stretch my budget dollars. I will certainly put them to good use. I love the band- aids with the red balloons. A band- aid in elementary school certainly cures a lot of ills! I also really appreciated the tissues and tissue box cover. It s nice to be able to wipe down the box cover at the end of the day! Again, thank you so much for your organization s generosity. Sincerely, Karen Meyne, RN, MHA Carroll Elementary School Nurse 817 949-4303 Karen.meyne@southlakecarroll.edu

Dear Children s Health, Thank you so much for the wonderful supplies! I truly appreciate your generosity. The children love the fun band aids! I have a very busy clinic and a limited budget so it has made a HUGE difference in taking care of the children. Thank you again! Jeannie Jeannie Tierney, RN BSN Denton Creek Elementary School Nurse 214-496- 8114 (office) 214-496- 8106 (fax) March 3, 2015 Dear Children s Health, Thank you so much for providing McSpedden Elementary with health supplies this year and for including me `in the Children s Health Make it Better program! Receiving the supplies you sent made my day as our school clinic budget is tight. It is hard to say which item I treasure the most. The kids LOVE the ice/warm packs with the small red little gel balls in it. I am not sure whether it is the cold or warmth that makes them better or the distraction of the fun gel pack! I have books for the kids to read when they are resting in the clinic, but they sure do enjoy the coloring pages as well. The tissue boxes and covers, flu information communication cards, Band- Aids, and other supplies are appreciated by me more than you know! Thank you so much for supporting school nurses, school health and children s health by offering us free supplies and teaching materials. Sincerely, Pam Taylor, BS, RN School Nurse McSpedden Elementary School 14140 Country brook Drive Frisco, TX 75035 469-633- 4033

Dear Children s Health, Thank you so much for the box of supplies! Valley Ridge Elementary just loves receiving the box of goodies. The students really enjoy the coloring pages. They use them while waiting for their parents to pick them up. It is a nice distraction for them when they are not feeling well. Also, we can always use tissues from runny noses to nosebleeds. The front office really likes your plastic tissue covers, so they are using one too. The gel packs are the big hit! They are great to be used for injuries or as a cool pack on students heads to relieve headaches/migraines. We really appreciate the donation from Children s Health!
