Life Science Zurich Young Scientist Network Map new talents with us!

Who we are We are the Young Scientist Network, a non-profit organization created and run by a group of graduates and post-docs of the University and the ETH Zurich. The Young Scientist Network operates under the wing of Life Science Zurich culminating in our acronym LSZYSN. Our Mission We strive to reduce the existing gap between academic research and the life science industry. We host events to allow young academics to explore the world of biotechnology and to stimulate constructive interactions between people from various life science sectors. We envision that our efforts will contribute to the formation of a wellinformed, competitively skilled and well-connected local and global life science community. Our Team 22 PhD students, Post-docs and young professionals ready to help you find the best university talents, and to help your talents to find their best next career step!

Our Events Zurich Life Science Day Aming to expand the horizons of young scientists in pursuit of a career as well as increasing their network, the Zurich Life Science Day brings together around 800 young scientists every year. In two parallel sessions with around 20 presentations, the participants gain an insight into careers in industry, academia, consulting, non-governmental positions, start-up companies and others. The company exhibition in the Lichthof is the heart of the event. There, participating companies have the opportunity to meet the most talented young scientists of the country. Your company could join us as: Company exhibitor Sponsor Giving a presentation Interested? contact us for more details (see end of document) Zurich Life Science Career Chat Career Chats is a speaker series that aims to invite experts from a variety of disciplines and professions to introduce their company, career possibilities within and their everyday life in a 40 min talk. The lecture is followed by questions from the audience and an apero that enables the speakers to interact with the audience in a more relaxed atmosphere. Zurich Life Science Camp In Zurich Life Science Camp (ZLSC) we intend to target several small and medium-sized companies that do not have the resources per se to organize such events. Through an intensive three-day workshop selected participants will have the opportunity to work on a real problem as part of the companyõ s daily business. Such workshops will have immense recruiting potential for the companies and direct access of the participants to their preferred working place.

Zurich Life Science Company Visits Visiting a working space often helps people to imagine how their future job could look like. In our Company Visits we empower our participants to learn more about their future possibilities within a firm as well as give them the opportunity to increase their network. Are you interested in showing us your company? Please do not hesitate to contact us, looking forward to hearing from you! Zurich Life Science Week Aiming to train life scientists in how to best seize job opportunities in a oneweek event, brings together twenty selected participants currently in their PhD or postdoc in life sciences and medicine. Our partners instruct the participants on how to assess appropriate jobs for their profile, the hidden labor market, how to write a CV or cover letter and prepare them for job interviews.... And many other projected events in mind. We are open for new ideas. Do you have an event idea in mind that could help young scientist moving forward in their career? We can help you to make it real. Is your company looking for new talents? We can help you to find them. Contact Us info@lszysn.ch Follow us: @YSNZurich www.facebook.com/lszysn http://www.lifescience-youngscientists.uzh.ch
