The Clinic prvides translatin services. Wmen and Children s Health Services (WCHS): WCHS is a nn-prfit ambulatry healthcare facility that specializes in the prvisin f bstetrical, gyneclgic and family planning services. Since its inceptin ver 25 years ag, WCHS has maintained a cmmitment t prvide medical care t all patients, regardless f their ability t pay. Mst patients have lw t mderate incmes. The prgram als ffers psychscial supprt services. The fllwing are examples f the prgrams prvided which PAH will cntinue t supprt: Latina Cmmunity Health Services: This prgram ffers prenatal and gyneclgic services t wmen wh are unable t btain medical insurance. The prgram is funded by grants and cntributins and staffed by a nurse and nurse practitiner. Physicians and Midwives vlunteer their time t care fr patients. Strategies t Encurage Parental Self-Sufficiency (STEPS) - This prgram prvides cunseling, educatin, clinical care, scial services and family planning t pregnant teens and their supprt persns. Childbirth Educatin Classes cver tpics such as Labr, Relaxatin Techniques, medical ptins fr pain relief in labr, pst-partum care and early infant care/develpment. Male Partners Services: This service prvides treatment fr the male partners f the female patients wh test psitive fr sexually transmitted diseases. Healthy Wmen Prgram: This state funded prgram prvides free cervical cancer and breast screenings. Smking Cessatin-The nursing staff is certified t prvide smking cessatin cunseling by Clean Air fr Healthy Children. This is a prgram spnsred by the Pennsylvania Department f Health. Newbrn Pediatric Care Will cntinue t prvide expert care thrugh the Intensive Care Nursery. Each year 40-60 babies are cared fr withut any means f supprt. Nurse-Midwifery Will cntinue t maintain this service which prvides 11 midwives wh wrk cllabratively with the physicians in the Department f Obstetrics and Gyneclgy t prvide care t lw-incme wmen. In additin t prviding care at the hspital they als prvide care at several cmmunity health clinics. The Mid-Wives als prvide free cmmunity educatin in multiple venues. Family Educatin Department Will cntinue t supprt the Family Educatin Department which prvides free pstpartum classes t supprt, educate, and encurage breastfeeding mthers.
