Senior Activities Spring 2018 2 PARENT OPPORTUNITIES May 22 We need parent help for all of our Senior activities. Parents organize and staff many of these events. If you would like to help with any of the Senior Activities, feel free to volunteer to help! We especially need your help with the Senior Breakfast on May 22, from 7:15 am to 9:00 am. If you wish to volunteer your help, or if you have any questions, please contact teacher Angela Rader, Senior Class Advisor, or Assistant Principal, Erica O Keeffe. Spring Musical Friday & Saturday, April 13 & 14, Sunday, April 15, 2:00 pm Grease is the word! Experience the friendships, romances and adventures of a group of high school kids in the 1950s. Can the summer romance between a wholesome student and a leather-clad hooligan survive the school year? Can they reach across the clique lines? Welcome to the singing and dancing world of "Grease," the most successful movie musical of all time. (The musical has a PG rating.) All seats are general admission, $10 each. You can order tickets at www.hilliarddavidsontheatre.com Delivery of Caps, Gowns & Graduation Announcements Wednesday, April 18, 10:30 am -1:00 pm Hilliard Davidson High School All students who participate in the graduation ceremony must wear caps and gowns. Students must order their caps, gowns, and tassels from Jostens. Most of our students ordered caps and gowns earlier in the year, and Jostens will deliver those orders to the high school on April 18. If you have not already ordered a set, please call Mike Dillon at Jostens, 488-6480, as soon as possible. A complete set cap, gown and tassel costs $50.00 plus tax. April 18 is the last day to place a late order. Jostens will deliver late cap and gown orders to students at the high school in time for graduation. Junior-Senior PROM THE GREAT GATSBY Saturday, April 21, 8:00 11:00 pm Crowne Plaza Dublin (600 Metro Place North) Students will dance through the Roaring Twenties at The Great Gatsby 2018 Junior-Senior Prom, on April 21, from 8-11 pm. Students must purchase tickets in advance of the Prom. Junior and senior students will be able to buy prom tickets online at www.locallevelevents.com starting on April 1 through April 21 at 5:00 pm. The cost is $70 per person for Davidson students and $75 per person for non-davidson guests. The ticket price includes admission to the after-prom party. Students should print their tickets and bring them to the prom. There will be no cash sales for prom tickets. After-Prom GAME NIGHT PARTY Saturday, April 21, 11:30 pm until 1:30 am on Sunday, April 22 Dave & Buster s (3665 Park Mill Run Drive) The After-Prom Game Night Party, will take place on Saturday, April 21, from 11: 30 pm until 1:30 am on Sunday, April 22, at Dave & Buster s in Mill Run. Grab your play money and try your luck at games for fun and at games where you win tickets for prizes! Each student who attends the After-Prom will receive a pre-loaded game card for any ticket games and unlimited game play for non-ticket games. There will be plenty of food, drinks, and fun things to do! Admission is free with the purchase of your prom tickets! ($20 without a prom ticket; $25 for a non- Davidson guest).

Senior Activities Spring 2018 3 Thursday, April 26, 9:30 am Senior Academic Awards This recognition program spotlights all of the seniors who receive any type of scholastic award, leadership award, or special recognition from our teaching staff, athletics, and the US Military. Seniors will receive their Academic Letters, pins, honors awards, plaques, etc., at this program. This program is one of two programs to recognize seniors for their accomplishments during their high school experience. Friday, April 27, 8:00 am Academic Signing The Academic Signing is an event to honor seniors who have won college scholarships and or grant money. Students will sign intent forms if they have financial offers that total at least $5,000 per year ($20,000 total) in combined college scholarships and/or grant money for four years. (Loans and financial aid do not count). Students must turn in forms for this event to the Guidance Office by Wednesday, April 11. We invite parents to attend this event. If you have questions, please call the Guidance Office at 921-7220. Wednesday, May 2, 7:15 am Senior Scholarship Awards Recognition This event is the second of two special programs to recognize seniors for their accomplishments in the past four years. During the Scholarship Awards Recognition, students receive a number of scholarships from the Hilliard community and outside sources. Students who have won these scholarships will be invited to this program, along with their parents. Choir Pops Concert Wish Upon A Star Friday, May 11 at & Saturday 12 at 2:00 pm H Travel back to your childhood and reminisce at the choir pops concert themed "Wish Upon A Star" featuring classic Disney tunes. The choirs will sing a variety of selections ranging from The Lion King, Little Mermaid, Moana, and Beauty and the Beast. Senior ipad Turn-In Very important! Tuesday, May 15 Thursday, May 17 Hilliard Davidson Media Center Seniors must turn in their ipads, cables, and chargers on May 15 through May 17, during the school day. Students must pay any fees for damaged or missing ipads and charging accessories. Please encourage your students to pay attention to upcoming announcements about the collection process. Students will need to know their Apple IDs and passwords prior to turning in their ipads. Please remove any restriction pass codes before turning in the devices. If your student will be absent during that time, please return the devices to the Media Center before the collection days. Last Day of Regular Classes for Seniors! Friday, May 18 Friday, May 18, is the last day of regular classes for Seniors. They must turn in all books, pay all fines, clean out their lockers, and take care of any other business by the end of this day. We will not grant a diploma to anyone who owes any outstanding fees. Sunday, May 20, 5:00- Baccalaureate Service This is a faith-based program open to all students who wish to attend. Tolles Certification Program Tuesday, May 22, Mershon Auditorium, Ohio State University This certification ceremony is for all senior students who complete their program at Tolles Career and Technical Center. Tolles students may participate in both the Tolles program and the Davidson Graduation. For more information about the Tolles program, call Tolles Technical Center at 873-4666.

Senior Activities Spring 2018 4 Senior Graduation Practice Mandatory! Tuesday, May 22, 7:45 am 11:00 am Hilliard Davidson Gymnasium Participation in commencement is optional. Students who choose to participate must attend graduation practice and follow the dress guidelines: Students must wear the approved cap and gown during the ceremony and they must wear the following clothing under the robe: Men dress shirt and tie, dress slacks, dress shoes and socks; Women light-colored dress or pants suit, and dress shoes. SENIOR CLASS BREAKFAST 7:45 am Davidson HS Gymnasium The Senior Breakfast brings together the entire senior class for breakfast in the gymnasium. There will be a short program after breakfast, some of our most talented seniors will entertain, and the yearbook staff will announce the Senior Selects ( most likely to succeed, best smile, etc.). All seniors should plan to attend this program. GRADUATION PRACTICE 8:45-11:00 am Davidson HS Gymnasium Graduation practice will follow the breakfast in the Hilliard Davidson HS gymnasium. This practice is MANDATORY for all students who plan to participate in the graduation ceremony. At the practice, each student will receive ONE FREE Schottenstein Center parking pass, and other information regarding procedures for graduation. Honor Society Cords At graduation practice, members of the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, and the National Technical Honor Society can pick up their honor cords to wear during the graduation ceremony. Top Ten Seniors may also wear their medallions for graduation. GRADUATION DAY Wednesday, May 23, 2018 (Senior Arrival Time: 6:00 pm) Value City Arena-Schottenstein Center On Wednesday, May 23, at 6:00 pm, Seniors must arrive at the Schottenstein Center loading dock/staging area, wearing their caps and gowns over appropriate clothing. The program will begin at. The ceremony is indoors, so we proceed as planned, rain or shine. The Schottenstein Center has plenty of seating so everyone who wishes to attend the ceremony is welcome! NO TICKETS NEEDED for family and friends to attend graduation. In mid-may, Seniors will receive more detailed information about the graduation ceremony and procedures at the Schottenstein Center. PARKING: Schottenstein Center visitors must pay for parking, per car. Each graduate will receive ONE FREE PARKING PASS at graduation practice. If your family needs more than one parking pass, you may purchase additional discountpriced passes in advance at the high school, beginning sometime in mid-may. POST GRADUATION INFORMATION May and June SENIOR FAILURES: Guidance counselors will contact the parents of any senior who fails a required course and who will not graduate. During the week of May 21, parents and students can make appointments with a counselor to discuss future graduation plans. GRADE CARDS / DIPLOMAS: Graduates who do not attend the commencement ceremony may pick up their diplomas in the main office of the high school beginning on Tuesday, May 29, during regular office hours. We will award NO DIPLOMAS prior to the May 23 graduation ceremony. FINAL TRANSCRIPTS: Students must request a final transcript for the college they plan to attend. The College Counselor, Mr. Woodford, will meet with seniors during May to distribute final transcript request forms. At that time, seniors will need to write in the name and address of the college, technical or preparatory school that they plan to attend. The Guidance Office will send final transcripts to schools in June; the one final transcript is free. However, we will not send any transcripts for a student who still owes money for fees.

Senior Activities Spring 2018 5 GRADUATION PHOTOS Parker Photographs will be at the Davidson graduation ceremony taking pictures of each and every student as he or she walks across the stage and receives a diploma on Wednesday, May 23. You will be able to purchase the graduation photographs or a photo-cd, no advance ordering necessary. Photos will be ready for viewing on Saturday, May 26, at: www.parkerphotographs.com You can order all your photos online, and we will mail them to you. The following steps will take you to the photographs: Click on the Photo Galleries and Online Images icon at the bottom of the page. All images on the site will appear. Select the Davidson photo icon, click on it, and all the Davidson images will pop up. Please note: There are two sets of images (one from each presenter at graduation). You will need to scroll down through the first set to reach the second set. The photo CDs are not available online; you must call the studio to order CDs, 766-7222.
