OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AUSTRALIA NT/QLD DIVISION Clinical Research Bursary APPLICATION FORM AND GUIDELINES GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS Introduction The Occupational Therapy Australia NT/QLD Division Clinical Research Bursary is offered, on a competitive basis, to occupational therapists who are current voting members of Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Division. Purpose The purpose of the bursary is: to assist those already undertaking clinical research or projects in an area related to occupational therapy theory or practice to support members wishing to commence clinical research or projects where assistance is less likely to be available from other sources to increase the profile of research within Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Division to disseminate information regarding clinical research projects Eligibility applicants will be current voting members of Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Division who have been a continuous member for three (3) years preference will be given to those without other scholarships or financial assistance applicants will be currently employed in a clinical setting and the research should be specific to, or an extension of, their clinical practice projects will focus on clinical rather than academic research projects should be completed within a two year period Selection Process one or several projects/research applications may be awarded, up to a total of $3000 (plus GST if applicable) applications will be reviewed by a selection panel, with two representatives from the Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Divisional Council and one representative from a school of occupational therapy in Queensland
Bursary following the decision of the Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Divisional Council, the Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Division Clinical Research Bursary will be announced to the successful and unsuccessful applicants in writing the research summary submitted by the successful applicant may be published by Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Division the bursary will be presented at the annual Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Division OT Week function in October. Bursary Recipient The successful applicant will be required to: present their findings to a relevant professional body at the completion of the project provide a summary of the research findings to Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Division at the completion of the research this report may be published by Occupational Therapy Australia - NT/QLD Division publication of the findings of the clinical research project is also encouraged no major change of direction in the research is to occur after the bursary has been granted the bursary should be used for projects or research that can be completed over a two-year period bursaries are to be taken up within 12 months of being granted no additional financial assistance will be provided after the bursary is granted Application Procedure applications should be submitted as described in the application form provided below the bursary will be for projects or research that can be completed over a two-year period ethical approval has been obtained from the relevant organisations for their project the bursary/s will have a total remuneration of up to $3,000 (plus GST if applicable) and applications should be made requesting assistance for up to this amount the closing date is (last working day of August) Late applications will not be accepted.
