Take a peek at Hoodwinked, an exciting new Wild in Art public art event coming to the streets of Nottingham in summer 2018. A Wild in Art Event delivered in partnership with Nottingham City Council www.wildinart.co.uk

Live the legend! A world-class sculpture trail will transform our great city into the playground of the mischievous Robin Hood local legend and master of disguise. There are great commercial marketing opportunities for your business to join this citywide celebration, with extensive brand exposure and opportunities for Corporate Social Responsibility participation across the duration of the trail. Make sure you don t miss out on being part of the biggest event in Nottingham in 2018. What s it all about? Hoodwinked is a Wild in Art event bringing together businesses, artists, schools and the community to create an eye-catching world-class sculpture trail. From July to September 2018, scores of quirky Hoodwinked sculptures will take pride of place in the city. Each will be sponsored by a business and individually decorated by professional artists. It s a great opportunity for businesses to join this celebration of our local legend and inspire their customers and employees to enjoy Nottingham s creativity. You ll spot Robin hiding in high-profile sites in the city centre. Take to the tram or the bus to find him out and about. This large-scale free public art event will showcase our city s huge artistic talent and boost the economic, social and cultural life of Nottingham. Just as importantly, it will raise awareness and funds for Nottinghamshire Hospice. So let s get ready for this exciting twist on the tale as we bring the legend to life. The twist on the tale Robin Hood master of disguise. The legends tell of his cloak and dagger exploits to outwit the Sheriff of Nottingham. The Hoodwinked trail is a modern-day twist on this tale of camouflage and cunning. So meet Robin our mischievous twist on the tale. The Hoodwinked sculptures transform our merry man in green into appealing birds of a feather who will flock together across the city - with a little help from their sponsors. Our feathered friend provides a perfect 3D canvas to showcase the talent of artists, communities, children and young people encouraging them to unleash their imagination and get creative. The robin holds a particular significance in supporting the work of our charity partner, Nottinghamshire Hospice, as it symbolises hope after the passing of a loved one. This cheeky chappy also captures the mischievous spirit of Robin Hood, and he ll wing his way into the affections of people far and wide. Artist: Jodie Silverman

How it works 1. Businesses, community groups, charities, places of education and individuals are invited to sponsor a Hoodwinked sculpture the blank canvas. 2. Artists are invited to submit designs to create a unique piece of art. The artists may be well-known or as yet undiscovered. 3. Schools are invited to take part by decorating a bench for their grounds. They ll also be encouraged to join in with activities around the Hoodwinked trail. 4. The decorated Robins will go on display around the streets for 12 weeks in summer 2018, creating a spectacular sculpture trail for everyone to enjoy. 5. After the event, each sculpture will be auctioned with the net proceeds being donated to our charity partner, Nottinghamshire Hospice. Timeline October 2017 Hoodwinked official launch be first to join the biggest event in Nottingham for summer 2018 October 2017 Open call for artists submissions February 2018 Sponsors preview the portfolio of designs Spring 2018 Artists commissioned and sculptures created Artist: Hannah Money July to September 2018 Hoodwinked sculpture trail October 2018 Grand farewell event and auction of sculptures to raise funds for Nottinghamshire Hospice. Summer 2018 is going to be the summer of Hoodwinked! The trail will be unmissable a celebration of our iconic outlaw as we ve never seen him before. Anticipation is already building, with businesses snapping up opportunities to be part of this unique citywide festival of fun. I can t wait to see the smiles on the faces of people exploring our city and meeting the tourists who are enticed to join in the merriment. Councillor Dave Trimble, Nottingham City Council Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture

Your sculpture could take on a life of its own as the focus of competitions or a social media campaign... the possibilities are endless. It s a fabulous tale that will generate huge media interest - so make sure you re part of the success story. High visibility The Hoodwinked sculptures will be displayed for 12 weeks, creating a major exhibition for everyone to enjoy for free. This is a great opportunity for your organisation to be associated with a design from a talented artist and to support the local creative sector. Hoodwinked will reach across communities, arts and education, bringing social, cultural, educational and charitable benefits. And what s more it s fun! A lasting legacy After the exhibition has finished, each Robin sculpture will be auctioned at a charity gala event. The funds raised will provide support for Nottinghamshire Hospice. The Creative Quarter Company is a key supporter of the Hoodwinked project. It will be a fantastic showcase for local artists and creatives to feature their work on the streets of the city centre, boosting Nottingham s reputation as a home for creative industries, and benefitting retail and leisure businesses through the increased numbers of visitors to the trail. Craig Chettle, Chair of Creative Quarter Nottingham Don t just take our word for it! Wild in Art projects create a lasting impact... It s great to see a fun and accessible sculpture project coming to the streets of Nottingham. Many of these projects have already taken place successfully across the country and it s great that it s now Nottingham s time. About Wild in Art Wild in Art is one of the leading creative producers of spectacular, mass-appeal public art events, bringing together business and creative sectors with schools and local communities through the creation of citywide trails of uniquely-painted sculptures. Since 2008 Wild in Art events have: Attracted more than 7million additional visitors to host cities and towns in Africa, Australia, Brazil and the UK Contributed more than 1.2million to local creative communities Enabled more than 10million to be raised for charitable causes Engaged more than 100,000 young people in creative programmes Our charity partner Nottinghamshire Hospice is an independent local charity serving people across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who have been told that their illness cannot be cured, as well as supporting their families during this difficult time. We pride ourselves on giving people the opportunity to choose where they want to be cared for at the end of their life. We do this by caring for patients in their own home through the Hospice at Home team and in our Day Therapy Centre by our care team. Our family and carer support team provide counselling as well as advice on coping with the problems faced in these difficult times. All of our services are provided free of charge, but with only a small proportion of our funding coming from the NHS we have to raise over 7,000 each and every day. Our work is possible only through the generosity of local businesses and individuals, so we can continue to be there for our local communities, whenever the time comes that they need us. We are so excited to be working with Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire Hospice to bring art to the streets and public spaces of the city in summer 2018. Hoodwinked will see artists, young people and communities come together with businesses to showcase the area s creativity, its heritage and spirit of fun. We hope the city s industries and businesses together with its cultural providers recognise the great benefits of getting involved as well as the positives for the local community and the hospice. Sally-Ann Wilkinson, Director of Wild in Art Nottinghamshire Hospice is delighted to be partnering Nottingham City Council and Wild in Art in delivering Hoodwinked across the city centre and in the hearts of our communities. We believe the smiles, curiosity and mischief the trail will bring will make summer 2018 sensational. Together with sponsors, artists and those who ultimately purchase the sculptures, we want to create a legacy for all those who will benefit from this precious investment in our city and our people. We are thrilled that part of that legacy here at the hospice will be the opportunity to continue to share the stories of the vital support that we provide to communities across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, enabling us to touch the lives of those families who don t yet know how our services could support them in their darkest days. Rowena Naylor-Morrell, CEO Nottinghamshire Hospice.

Sponsorship packages Wild in Art events have an excellent track record wherever they take place, offering a proven return on investment; great opportunities for brand exposure, staff and customer engagement, and increasing footfall and sales. Your business will put a feather in its cap by sponsoring a Hoodwinked sculpture. Promotion of the trail has already begun so the sooner you sign up, the sooner your business will start to benefit. Remember - the early bird catches the worm. Cavalry Design are delighted to support a project as high profile and rewarding as Hoodwinked. Hoodwinked Arts and Education Programme: Robin s Tales Hoodwinked will inspire Nottingham s next generation with a unique education programme: Robin s Tales. Focussing on arts and literacy, it will use the excitement of Hoodwinked to bring Nottingham legends to life for our youngest little outlaws and support literacy learning in our city s primary schools. There will be a host of hands-on opportunities to get involved, with children helping to design and decorate a BookBench for their school, and teachers receiving accredited training. All the benches will be exhibited as part of the Hoodwinked community trail before making their home permanently at school. Sponsoring Robin s Tales is a great way to boost the profile of your business while investing in our city s future.
