15th Annual Rocky Mountain Gasshuku at Keystone Resort, Colorado, USA On September 25-27, 2009 Sponsored by: Dear Friends and Karate-ka, On behalf of the International Martial Arts Association (I.M.A), I would like to invite you and your students to our exciting and memorable 15 th annual Gasshuku (annual summer camp). Gasshuku is a traditional retreat designed to allow a karate-ka to focus on karate without the daily distractions that interrupt the learning process. By participating in this camp, you will learn many skills and form a better understanding of Martial Arts. Training will be held in four separate training areas, with students separated into four levels. Please refer to the training schedule for specific levels and training times. INTERNATIONAL MARTIAL ARTS ASSOCIATION This camp is open to all martial arts students, coaches, and instructors who wish to learn traditional Japanese and the facets of Sport Karate. Date and Location: The IMA Gasshuku camp is held in Colorado s beautiful mountains at the Keystone Resort and Conference Center. The Keystone Resort is located approximately 80 miles west of Denver in Keystone, Colorado. The drive is a little more than one hour and thirty minutes from Denver through the scenic Rocky Mountains. Although the roads are paved, the drive includes a mountain pass over 10,000 feet. There is a direct driving route from DIA to Silverthorne on I-70, east on Highway 6 from Silverthorne to Keystone. Check-in begins at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25 th, and checkout is around 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 27 th. Training will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with full gi. Please refer to the schedule for exact locations of classes. Participants and guests coming from out of state should be sure to arrive in Denver no later than 12 noon on September 25 th.. If possible arrive the night before and enjoy an extra day in the beautiful Colorado Mountains. In addition, you should schedule your return flight to leave late on Sunday. Participants who live locally should leave home around 3:00 p.m. on Friday, because of traffic on Highway I-70. Facilities: The IMA camp is held in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This area has some of the most beautiful views in the world. Gasshuku is held at the Keystone Resort, which offers countless activities such as, 40 miles of paved paths for walking or biking, 15 pools and hot tubs, a scenic gondola ride, horseback riding, shops, restaurants, golf, whitewater rafting and much more. Reservation and Rates: It is recommended that each individual (or family) planning to attend the camp, call the Keystone Resort and Conference Center and make their own personal reservations. This will enable each family or individual to satisfy their particular needs and desires for accommodations. It is necessary when making reservations that you mention the IMA Karate Group: our group code is CK2MA9, in order to receive the special rate. We encourage you to make your room reservation as soon as you can, because rooms are limited. The special rate per person is as low as $25.00 per night, depending on your room. We have a choice of rooms blocked until September 4, 2008 at the following prices for up to four guests:* Keystone Lodge & Spa at $120.00 per night; Gateway Efficiency at $99.00 per night; Forest 1 Bedroom at $120.00 per night; and Conference Village 2 Bedroom at $140.00 per night. Check out the Keystone website for details about the accommodations. You may also request rooms in any other Keystone facility at the discounted rate subject to availability, such as the Inn at Keystone (Pet friendly). Be sure to provide the group code to get a discount and ensure our group is credited for the room. Rooms are subject to availability and special rates are not guaranteed after September 4, 2009. The number of participants at our camp has been growing every year and we are expecting to have over 150 students this year. Room expenses, taxes, and incidentals are the responsibility of each individual or family. *A daily resort fee of $7.00 applies to rooms at The Inn at Keystone, which includes free local phone calls, free high speed wireless, free in or outbound faxes, free copies, free use of the business center, free access to the Lodge pool and fitness center and free bottled water in the rooms. A daily Rock Resort s fee of $15.00 applies to rooms at Keystone Lodge & Spa, which includes twice daily housekeeping service, robes and slippers in each room, complimentary WiFi, complimentary access to Keystone Fitness Center, complimentary newspaper in Lobby, and complimentary valet parking. Fees are subject to a 5.9% taxable surcharge, plus any prevailing state and local taxes.

Training Fee: One person is: $150.00, the family rate is as follows: two people $235.00, three people: $285.00, four people: $330.00. The cost for each seminar is: $75.00.
