St. Joseph Health Foundation Debuts New Name To herald its 25 th anniversary, the St. Joseph Health Foundation has changed its name to St. Joseph Health Community Partnership Fund. The name change properly reflects the heart of the organization to extend the mission of serving communities through likeminded partners. The new name also honors our heritage, as it was Father Medaille who guided our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph, in seventeenth century France to go out and find partners to work with in extending the healing mission to their dear neighbors. For the past 25 years, the SJH Community Partnership Fund has invested more than $200 million to support organizations that help improve the health and well-being of the economically poor. Funds are raised through the annual tithing of 10 percent of net-income from each of the SJH ministries. SJH Community Partnership Fund incites the growth and health of our communities through several initiatives including the wellness and prevention initiative, community building initiative and community investment fund. Most recently, as part of the disaster relief funding initiative, the SJH Community Partnership Fund awarded a $25,000 grant to the American Red Cross to further support their efforts in providing immediate relief to the communities affected by Hurricane Sandy. The American Red Cross is connecting people with recovery resources by providing food, water, relief supplies, shelter stays, health services and emotional support. Created to serve neighbors in need, SJH Community Partnership Fund is committed to promoting the health and well-being of individuals and families with the help of our partners programs and dedicated efforts.
