WHO ARE WE? Live Different is a Canadian charity that exists to inspire a lifestyle that cares about people, not stuff. We accomplish this mission through programs that engage on a personal level. These programs include: Live Different Motivational Presentations: Our exciting and impactful presentations have one of Canada s largest face-to-face youth audiences, supporting over 300 schools each year from coast to coast. Recently, Live Different has also added a team that focuses on empowering youth within Indigenous communities. To date, our presentations program have impacted over 1.3 million Canadian students. Live Different Academy: A gap-year program, hosted in Mexico, where young adults are mentored, gain cross-cultural experience, and are transformed in their thinking, their actions, and their focus for the future. Live Different Builds: Individuals and groups have the opportunity to travel with a purpose, helping to build houses in developing country communities that we partner with long term. Live Different s army of volunteers (6000+ to date) have raised funds for, and personally helped to construct, over 500 homes for families in desperate need. Live Different Projects: These are larger humanitarian projects that are funded, constructed, and sustained through donations and volunteer contributions in addition to the homes provided through the Builds program. Some recent projects include a trades learning centre in Mexico, a medical clinic in the Dominican Republic, and a school in Haiti. Live Different Projects is responding to an urgent need for a transitional home for young girls who have been trafficked in Haiti. This FREEDOM CENTRE will provide a safe place for girls to heal, learn, and prepare for a successful future.
