Androu Abdalmalak 4th Year - Biomedical Engineering Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering I am in my final year of Biomedical Engineering at Ryerson University. I first came to Canada when I was 17 years old and have learned a lot throughout my time at Ryerson. I am thankful and honored to be receiving the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I have worked very hard to maintain a standard of academic success and I owe a great deal of thanks to many people. I appreciate all of my professors, and all of the time and effort they have put into guiding me through this whirlwind of an experience. I would also like to thank my family and friends for their support. All in all, my time at Ryerson has been very rewarding. Sahar Feroz Biomedical Engineering IEEE Toronto Section Scholarship for Academic Excellence Graduated 2013 I recently graduated from Biomedical Engineering with honours. After completing my third year, I had the opportunity to work as an intern for 16 months at Sanofi Pasteur in the Bioprocess Research & Development: Formulation and Stability platform. As a Biomedical Engineering student, I gained a lot of technical and handson experience. I developed a thorough understanding of the process development as I designed and executed experiments to optimize various processes. I also helped in implementing new technologies for these processes. During my 4th year at Ryerson University, I designed a Haptic Surgical Training System and was awarded 2013 Best Capstone Design Project. I was also honoured to be a recipient of Dean s List and Ryerson Student Scholars throughout the four years at Ryerson University. I had an executive position as a VP of membership at the BMES Ryerson Student Chapter. Overall, I had a great experience at Ryerson University and I am grateful for all that the University has done for me. I am truly honoured to receive the IEEE Toronto Section Scholarship for Academic Excellence. This award provides additional motivation, enthusiasm and determination to achieve my professional goals as an Engineer.

Gen Wu Jin 2nd Year - Electrical Engineering Jack Roy Longstaffe Memorial Scholarship Gen Wu Jin has graduated from the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician program George Brown College. As a hard-working student, he made the Dean's Honors Roll in spring 2007 with a GPA of 3.54 and received the 2008 Tech in the City Cabinet Award for superior academic performance and leadership qualities. After graduation, he worked as a field technician at a fire alarm company. While working for four years in the fire alarm industry, he became a Canadian Fire Alarm Associating certified technician. Now, in order to acquire further technical and theoretical knowledge in the field he is studying Electrical Engineering in Ryerson University. He is now working hard to achieve academic excellence and looking forward to step into the professional word of Electrical Engineering after graduation.

Gentian Licenji 3rd Year - Computer Engineering Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering My name is Gentian Licenji and before starting my undergraduate career in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ryerson, I previously studied in the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Albania. I have worked very hard to achieve and maintain a position on the Dean s Honor list with a GPA of 4.0. I have been awarded two scholarships for excellence Aditya Jha Diversity Award and Jack Roy Langstaffe Memorial Scholarship during my 1st year of Engineering. In addition, I was a part of the RESS frosh team, which made me realize my passion in leading and mentoring people towards their goal. I have worked for over two years as a research assistant with many different projects, which proved to be a great learning experience. However, recently I have started working on my own start-up project called ira(an OCR mobile application that will aid the blind/visually impaired in reading everyday printed documents). My ultimate goal is to contribute in the community by building a successful company that will shape the visual technology of the future.
