Fresh Thyme Farmers Market recently opened near Duff Ave. Their main focus is providing a large fresh produce section of vegetables and fruits to encourage healthy diets. Sign up in the bus book. DINING OUT WITH ROD: BOULDER TAP HOUSE Tuesday, March 6th 4:45 PM Boulder Tap House is the new restaurant in town! Come along and try something on their large menu including wings, burgers, taco platters, salads, sandwiches, shakes and malts. Sign up in the bus book. NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH PROGRAM Thursday, March 15th Registered Dietitian, Courtney B., will speak and do a cooking demonstration on low carbohydrate meals. This style of cooking and eating is great for those with diabetes or those looking for weight control. Courtney will discuss ways to control blood glucose levels and will provide helpful tips for everyday healthy eating. WELLNESS FAIR Tuesday, March 20th 1 & 1:00 PM 3:00 PM The wellness fair is an opportunity open to all residents to complete basic screenings including: Balance, Vitals, Cognitive, Functional Assessments and Walker/ Wheelchair checks. This is not a physical examination and not meant to replace your annual physical. The wellness fair will be held in the Main Dining Room. MOVIE OUTING-AMES CINEMARK: TBD Tuesday, March 20th 1:15 PM Movie to be determined when date nears. Tickets will be billed to account. Be sure to attend the wellness fair in the morning if you wish to go to the movie. DAYTRIP TO CLARION: GROUNDED AND HEARTLAND MUSEUM Tuesday, March 27th 10:15 AM Come along as we venture north to Clarion. We first will stop at Grounded restaurant on Main Street. Lunch will be purchased individually. Following lunch, we will head to the Heartland Museum. The Heartland Museum offers diverse exhibits on the past and present agriculture of Iowa. Admission for the museum is $12.00. Tickets will be billed to your account. Sign up in the bus book. *Note: Drive time one way is one hour and 11 minutes. Approximate return time: 4:30 PM. YSS PRESENTATION Andrew Allen, CEO of YSS, will share some exciting updates about YSS and its programs. YSS has been serving kids in our community for nearly 42 years and includes programs in prevention, treatment and transition services. Andrew will be sharing information about an addition to the treatment division that will address a growing need for kids in our community. We hope to see you there! Refreshments will be provided. "UNELECTED, UNACCOUNTABLE, POWERFUL: The Influence of First Ladies will be this month s Continuing Education program presented by ISU History professor, Stacy A. Cordery. Dr. Cordery will analyze the influence both positive and negative of American First Ladies by focusing on two women who succeeded at the position and two who did not. The audience will be invited to discuss the baffling topic of American expectations for First Ladies in the 21st century.

BIG 12 TOURNAMENT KICKOFF PARTY Wednesday, March 7th 3:00 PM The Big 12 Tournament down in Kansas City begins on the 7th. Although we do not know the schedule of the games at this time, we will be having a social to appropriately kickoff the tournament! Join us in the main dining room for snacks and basketball.
