COMMUNITY CHEST AWARDS Categories & Criteria

Awards Logo The design of the Community Chest Awards logo draws its inspiration from the Community Chest logo. The design resembles a star and depicts people and organisations from all walks of life coming together. The design of wide-open arms symbolises the compassionate acceptance and generous love of our donors for the less fortunate in the community. Coming together hand-in-hand demonstrates the unity of the donors and beneficiaries to form a happy healthy community and nation. The strong use of orange reflects warmth, hope and a bright future. The Awards logo is a tribute and endorsement of the fund-raising efforts of the award recipients and their partnership with Community Chest. Award winners are encouraged to use the logo as a pledge of their strong advocacy towards community giving and endorsement of their corporate social responsibility efforts. Logos will be made available to all Community Chest Awards winners for use in their publications and publicity efforts. Recipients of multiple awards will be provided with the logo of the higher award category.

The Awards Process Community Chest, the fund-raising arm of National Council of Social Service, presents annual awards to recognise the support it receives from the community. Since 1984, these awards have served to acknowledge the passion and generosity of organisations and individuals who have helped the disadvantaged in our society. Their support have enabled Community Chest to fund social service programmes dedicated to helping beneficiaries lead lives filled with hope and dignity. The Community Chest Awards affirm the need for the Many Helping Hands approach in building a compassionate society, and are presented in the following seven major categories: - SHARE Award - Corporate Award - Special Events Award - Individual Award - Partner Award - The Chandra Das Great Idea Award - Pinnacle Award Selection of the Community Chest Awards winners is based on donations made or raised in the preceding financial year, starting 1 April and ending 31 March. Nominations for The Chandra Das Great Idea Award are open from 1 April to 30 April each year. The Community Chest Awards Committee oversees the administration of the Awards. It is empowered to waive the rules, if such steps are in keeping with the spirit and purpose of the Awards. The Community Chest Awards are presented at the annual Community Chest Awards Presentation Ceremony.
