33rd Annual FTA Technology Conference and Exhibition Federation of Tax Administrators July 30 - August 2, 2017 JW Marriott Indianapolis

WELCOME Welcome to the 33rd Annual FTA Technology Conference and Exhibition in Indianapolis. We again gather to learn about new initiatives, discuss issues of interest and get information on new products and services in the tax and revenue marketplace. This year s conference features a full agenda of sessions on new initiatives by government tax authorities, descriptions of technology applications and standards, and remarks by industry providers on a variety of topics important to the tax administration community. Thanks to your willingness to share your knowledge, we are offering significant sessions on useful developments on the use of technology in taxation, as well as a special vendor Solutions Series. Some of you will be attending our E-STANDARDS working group meeting after the close of the Conference, which will focus on developing XML-based state and federal electronic commerce standards. As always, we hope this year s FTA Annual Technology Conference and Exhibition assists you in your new technology efforts and that you find the time to enjoy the unique attractions of Indianapolis. 2017 Solution Series Detail Monday, July 31 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Presented by: FAST Enterprises Title: The Future of State Tax Audit Programs Description: It s indisputable that the world around us is changing and changing rapidly. Just about everything we do will eventually be done differently. While not all change is predictable, readiness for change is critical to keep pace and not lose ground, especially in our fast-paced world. The future that lies ahead for state tax audit programs is no different. The sharing economy, new business models, the rapid shift to online retail commerce, greater access to data, tax reform, and workforce changes will all impact how revenue agencies select and conduct audits. This presentation will provide some insights into how these developments may affect traditional audit approaches and how some of the changes on the horizon may require rethinking of many existing audit approaches. Session Presenter: Joe Milack, FAST Enterprises, LLC 16
