These entries are also due at the time of registration for the Spring Conference. Keep in mind the other benefits gained by attending the Greater Northwest Spring Conference. We will be joined by our guest speaker Debi Jenkins from Clark College. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet, interact and network with fellow Phi Theta Kappa members, and your regional leadership. It is a chance to explore and experience exciting team building activities. At the conference you can also learn helpful information about scholarships, fundraising, and leadership and any other burning questions you may have in a question and answer panel with your regional leadership team. In addition, there will be an opportunity to gain information from colleges local to the Greater Northwest Region. These are just some of the many ways attending the Regional Spring Conference can benefit both your chapter and yourself! We hope to see you all there! 2

Join us in Kansas City Missouri for 3 full days of seminars, learning, networking, guest speakers, and literally thousands of fellow Phi Theta Kappa members all in one place. This is the celebration you do not want to miss! Check out the link below for a video of last year Catalyst 2017 highlights, including speakers Jamie Hyneman of Mythbusters, Dr. Jennifer Arnold, Neonatologist and television personality, and World Photographer Platon as well as many other exciting events! https://youtu.be/jjquxz84pay This year at the Centennial, we are honored to have amazing guest speakers. Phi Theta Kappa is featuring Susan Cain, Leadership expert and Best-selling Author, Amy Cuddy, Social Psychologist and Best-selling Author, and Tony and Grammy award winner Daveed Diggs from the play Hamilton! Preparing for Catalyst Careful planning and preparation can reduce costs and stress with the upcoming Catalyst Event. Registering early for Catalyst can greatly reduce costs for the trip, especially if there are many people going. Registration fees are $389 before March 28 th, and $439 beginning on March 29 th. 4

Booking Hotels and Flights early can reduce costs and stress as well. Kansas City is expecting lots of people so hotels will begin to sell out or prices will go up. Flights for the trip will also begin to fill and increase as we get closer. Don t get stuck unprepared! Five Star Competitive Edge Five Star Competitive Edge is a personal development program for Phi Theta Kappa members that teach: Career Development Plan Scholarships Resume Writing Leadership Styles Emotional Intelligence Collaboration Etiquette Skills Professional Development There are five levels to complete! Will you do it? Get an edge with Five Star Competitive Edge! Stuck on a Star? Not sure how to deal with the Case Study? We can help! Be sure to reach out to your Regional Team for any help or questions regarding Five Star Completion! Any Officer would be more than happy to offer any advice, or just get you on the right track for completion. 5

Don t forget that along with all the amazing events that Phi Theta Kappa has in store, there is one other opportunity to learn even more about Phi Theta Kappa, the Honors Institute. The Honors Institute is a convention held for Phi Theta Kappans and this year will be held in Villanova, Pennsylvania at the Villanova University from June 18-23rd. This convention will discuss the new Honors in Action study topic: Transformations: Acknowledging, Assessing, and Achieving Change. This convention will also be a great opportunity to learn more about leadership through the Phi Theta Kappa s Leadership Development Program, and collaborative learning exercises in small groups. This convention is occurring just once this year, and there are only approximately 500 spots that can be filled. Make sure that you register by May 11th and see you at the Honors institute in June. 6
