Unintentinal Injury Preventin - Perfrmance Imprvement Plan This perfrmance imprvement plan is fr ne f the 21 cre prgrams that cmprise the prvincial initiative t strengthen the public health infrastructure f all health authrities in-line with an evidence based cre functins framewrk. The purpse f this reprt is t describe the assessment f Fraser Health (FH) practices in the area f unintentinal injury preventin (UIP) cmpared t the public health cre mdel prgram, and utline FH s plans t further develp its practices t better fulfill its rle in UIP. The mdel cre paper als states that the verall gal f the UIP functin is the preventin r reductin f unintentinal injuries in BC. Specific bjectives are t: Reduce the ccurrence f injuries; Reduce the severity and adverse impact f injuries; and Prevent r reduce injury-related disability and death. Perfrmance imprvement planning is therefre being directed tward the fllwing pririties: Creating a crdinated, health authrity wide structure with clearly defined accuntabilities fr UIP; Identifying key internal and external stakehlders; Establishing health authrity wide strategies, pririties, and data cllectin and evaluatin prcesses fr UIP that take equity cnsideratins int accunt; Leveraging existing strategies and evaluatin framewrks, mdifying them fr use by ther prgram areas. www.fraserhealth.ca respect caring trust 1/5
