BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE MILL CREEK SPORTSMEN S ASSOCIATION A) The annual cost of Memberships are: Individual Membership = $60.00 Spousal Membership = $45.00 Family Membership = $120.00 (those members residing at the same address) Junior Membership = $10.00 (up to 17 years of age) Senior Membership = $30.00 (65 years of age +) B) There is a non-recurring, non-refundable initiation fee of $30.00 for all new Memberships. The Initiation fee (one) applies to Family Memberships also. C) Neither the initiation fee, nor the membership dues, applies to members of the Military. Proof of current Military I.D. is required on an annual basis. D) The membership year is the period October 1 st through September 30 th. The membership renewal period is October 1 st through December 31 st. Members not having paid memberships dues by December 31st of the membership year shall be deemed as forfeiting membership, and must pay the initiation fee along with membership dues to have their membership reinstated. E) All new members shall be required to attend the meeting during which their membership is voted on. In the case of a Family Membership, a minimum of one adult member of the Family is required to attend this meeting. Request to waive this requirement can be granted on a case by case basis by a majority vote of the MCSA Board of Directors. F) All new members are required to attend a facilities tour and range safety briefing. Content and scheduling of this briefing is at the discretion of Education Committee. This program will be offered a minimum of twice monthly. An individual s membership card will only be issued, and is contingent upon, satisfaction of the requirements above.

Mill Creek Sportsmen s Association New Member Orientation and Range Rules (717) 393-6416 www.millcreeksportsman.com Gate and Building The combination to the gate lock is located on the left side of your membership card. As soon as you remove the lock you must return the combination to 0000 and lock the gate behind you. You are responsible for anyone entering if you have not re-locked the gate. The gate combination will change each October 1 st. You will not have access until you renew your membership. Anyone may ask to see a membership card Anyone bringing a non-member onto the club grounds assumes full responsibility for that person. Non-members MAY NOT SHOOT ON ANY M.C.S.A. RANGE unless they are attending an event sanctioned by the club or they are taking classes from our instructors. Refreshments There is a refrigerator in the kitchen containing sodas and water. Members may help themselves for a donation when the club house is open. The club house can be opened by any executive officer, director or range officer and will be open on Sunday s from 12noon until 2pm. Alcohol Policy No one shall be in possession of any firearm (loaded or unloaded) while intoxicated or in possession of any alcoholic beverage. Anyone using alcoholic beverages must leave any firearms locked in their vehicle or in the club office. Archery The archery targets are set at 10, 20 and 33 yards. The bag targets are for field tips only. There will be a special broad-head target provided from September 1 st until the end of January. The use of a portable tree stand is permitted if you follow these rules; 1. YOU MUST HAVE A FULL BODY HARNESS ATTACHED TO YOU AND THE TREE AT THE SAME TIME.YOU MUST HAVE A PERSON ON THE GROUND TO HAND YOUR ARROWS BACK UP TO YOU. THIS WILL REDUCE THE NUMBER OF TIMES YOU NEED TO CLIMB.

Fishing You must be a member or less than 10 years of age and be accompanied by a member to fish on the association grounds. All trout and bass must be killed (in season) or returned to the stream. You may not remove live fish from the grounds. o A PA fishing license is required by anyone over 16 years of age. o Wading is permitted Exception The association will sponsor a fishing derby in May of each year. Children 13 years of age and under are permitted to fish for free. The association will fence off the creek and stock trout for this one day event. The grounds will be open to the public but no one over 13 years old may fish before noon on that day. All other M.C.S.A. and fish commission rules apply. Handguns Anyone using a handgun on any M.C.S.A. range (indoor or outdoor) MUST qualify with one of our instructors or range officers and receive a Q on your membership card or a qualification card stating you have met the requirements to shoot handguns on M.C.S.A. ranges before using a handgun. Indoor Range The indoor range is open to the public on Sundays from 12noon till 2PM for handguns only. You may shoot up to.45acp with full metal jacket or lead bullets only. On Thursday evenings from 7 till 9 pm the range is open to members only for.22 rifle or pistol only. There will be a fee charged for both events and this will include all targets. Indoor Range Rules 1. No magnums or hot loads including.22 &.17 2. There will be a range officer on duty 3. Ear and eye protection are required while anyone is shooting 4. All range commands must be followed 5. Keep all muzzles pointed downrange at all times 6. All firearms on the tables must have the actions open and magazines out when not in use 7. All shooters must sign release form and waivers form 8. All pistol shooters must qualify before shooting Outdoor Ranges There are three outdoor ranges; 100 yards, 50 yards and 25 yards. You must shoot from the pavilion when using the 100 and 50 yard ranges. You may move up to any distance you like to shoot on the 25 yard range. The 25 yard range is the only range you may vary your shooting distance on. No one may pass the front posts of the pavilion until EVERYONE in the pavilion gives the OK. Firearms shall not be handled when anyone is downrange. When going downrange post the orange flag provided to signify cease fire. On the outdoor range you must provide your own targets.

Outdoor Range Rules 1. Proof of membership must be displayed at all times on the outdoor ranges 2. All pistol shooters must qualify before shooting 3. Ear and eye protection are required everywhere under the pavilion while anyone is shooting 4. Keep muzzles down even when loading or chambering a round 5. All actions must be open and magazines out when firearms are down 6. Monday thru Saturday- no shooting before 8 am 7. Sunday- no shooting before 12 noon 8. All shooting must cease ½ hour before sunset. Times are posted 9. Paper targets only (NO BOTTLES OR CANS ETC.) 10. Do not hang targets on supports 11. No rapid fire- count 1 second between rounds/ No full automatic fire 12. No alcohol on the ranges 13. Be courteous- Limit your time to ½ hour when others are waiting 14. Be courteous- clean up your brass and targets 15. Put all duds and live rounds in the dud box- not in the trash 16. No move and shoot drills are permitted 17. No moving targets are permitted 18. Fire through the tubes on the 100 yard range (except black powder) 19. Range closes at 7 PM on meeting nights 20. When club grounds are rented or other activities are taking place ranges may be closed without notification.
