PREREQUISITE: Admission to nursing program COREQUISITES: MTH 100, BIO 201 Course Description: This course provides foundational knowledge of nursing concepts and incorporates clinical decision making to provide evidence based nursing care. Content includes but is not limited to: nursing domain, health care domain, individual domain, assessment, and pharmacological concepts. NUR 113. Nursing Concepts I. 8 hrs. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of NUR 112, MTH 100, and BIO 201. COREQUISITES: ENG 101, BIO 202 Course Description: This course reinforces foundational knowledge of nursing concepts across the lifespan and incorporates clinical decision making to provide evidence based nursing care. Content includes but is not limited to: homeostasis; perioperative care; oxygenation and infection; nutrition and inflammation; perfusion; metabolism; and mobility. NUR 114. Nursing Concepts II. 8 hrs. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of NUR 113, ENG 101 and BIO 202. Concepts for Healthcare Transition Students. 10 hours PREREQUISITE: Admission to nursing program This course focuses on application of nursing concepts to assist health care professionals to transition into the role of the registered nurse. Emphasis in this course is placed on evidenced based clinical decision making and nursing concepts provided in a family and community context for a variety of health alterations across the lifespan.
