In pursuit of this goal, recent history has seen the introduction of six new degree programs. By focusing and expanding on core needs of the industry, these degree programs signal our continued commitment to give students the tools necessary to start their careers. GRAPHIC DESIGN MUSIC BUSINESS RECORDING ARTS SHOW PRODUCTION & TOURING WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT Graphic Design Associate of Science Degree Program The Graphic Design Associate s Degree is the perfect fit for visual artists and designers, focusing on the design and corporate branding found in the industries of advertising, print media, and more. Web Design & Development Bachelor of Science Degree Program The Web Design & Development Bachelor of Science Degree Program is for students interested in both the front-end design and back-end technology of website development. This degree merges the art of creating intelligent and intuitive interfaces with the coding skills necessary to implement them. 4
Game Art Bachelor of Science Degree Program For our Game Art Bachelor s Degree, we ve taken the fine art elements of our existing Computer Animation Degree and applied them to the specific environments required of video games. This program addresses the constant innovation of 3D graphics and design and the unlimited potential that they bring to the latest games, providing students a thorough education in the creation of complex and realistic game art. Education Media Design & Technology Master of Science Degree Program A recent addition to Full Sail s online programs is the Education Media Design & Technology Master s Degree. This program is designed to provide teachers and corporate trainers with the media tools and educational strategies to make their lessons and presentations more relevant and inspirational. Entertainment Business Bachelor of Science Degree Program Master of Science Degree Program For students interested in beginning or enhancing a career behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, whether management, distribution, or any entrepreneur-based venture, we also offer Entertainment Business Bachelor of Science and Entertainment Business Master of Science Degrees online. The Entertainment Business Bachelor s Degree will also be offered on campus, starting in June 2008. 5
FULL FULL SAIL SAIL UNIVERSITY fullsail.edu Campus EXPANSION The past year has seen a number of significant additions to Full Sail University s campus, and we re excited to offer students these new creative spaces. The constant updating and upgrading of our campus is one of the major foundations of our school, explains Isis Jones, Full Sail s Chief Information Officer. In order to continue to provide the best possible education, we ve got to make sure that students learn on the most relevant and current technology in the industry. Two new facilities were introduced this past year to complement some of the latest degree programs at Full Sail. The Web Design & Development Building offers students a dedicated creative environment, including integrated classrooms and labs that have been designed to incorporate our Apple Launchbox program. Students in this building are able to use their MacBook Pro and our campus-wide Wi-Fi connection to participate in class discussions and projects. The building also offers plenty of open space to work on projects, as well as network with classmates and meet with instructors in two student lounges. Digital Arts & Design Gallery Web Design & Development Building Construction also recently finished on our Digital Arts & Design Gallery. This area features multiple computer stations, isolated sound domes, and a traditional art wall where students can submit their latest multimedia projects giving them life beyond the classroom. The gallery is special because it highlights student projects in both digital and physical formats, Jones offers. With all our new facilities and equipment, it s great to be able to really focus on the projects and artwork the students are producing in them. NEW Facilities 1. Web Design & Development Building 2. Film Center The introduction of the Film Center has given students another degree-specific environment to exercise their creativity. This facility is an industry-quality motion picture production center, giving students all the tools needed to turn scripts into feature films. The building houses workshops for constructing sets, as well as a complete array of lighting and grip equipment for Hollywood-style productions. Environments like the Film Center come from our goal of providing that real world experience in the types of studios and soundstages that students are going to see once they graduate and get out into the professional world, explains Jones. The Film department has also seen its postproduction facilities expand, with new Avid Media Composer stations and a new Final Cut lab, which features 42 individual stations running the latest version of Apple s Final Cut Pro. Finally, our new Avid Unity Isis Server system gives students even more room to store their projects and access them from multiple labs across campus. SSL AWS900+ Consoles In order to continue to provide top quality education, we ve got to make sure that students learn on the most relevant and current technology in the industry. The AWS900+ is an analog console but has features that allow it to control Pro Tools, giving students the experience of analog recording with the versatility that comes with digital. Phil Tan is one of Full Sail s most recognized Recording Arts graduates a multiple GRAMMY -award winner who has worked with artists like Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, and Gwen Stefani and this scholarship speaks directly to incoming Recording Arts and Show Production & Touring students, explains Garry Jones, President of Full Sail. It gives these students the potential, based on financial need, to earn additional scholarship aid on their tuition. Another unique scholarship offering is the Full Sail Entertainment and Media Industry Scholarship for Women, which provides eligible students with up to $2100 towards their tuition.
