The 2012 Network Meeting Objectives: 30 Participants: 1. 26 participants from 11 Arab countries 4 international organizations 2. 3. 4. Take stock of the network progress and achievements since the last meeting held in November 2010 in Beirut; Present and discuss the most recent developments and initiatives pertaining to capacity development initiatives in MENA countries; Meet new members and built partnerships; Elect a new steering committee for the period 2012-2014. The 2012 Conference - Training and Cooperation for Change in the MENA region 80 Participants: 53 participants from 12 Arab countries 13 participants from 8 European institutions 10 participants from international organizations: OECD, SIGMA, WB, ITC-ILO, RESP 5 participants from regional organizations API, ESCWA, METAC, CEF-IMF Objective: Offer a space for dialogue, experience-sharing and peer-to-peer learning on the issues of: 1. 2. 3. Building Capacities in Times of Crises: Has the crisis modified our vision of the civil service? What approaches and strategies in post-conflict countries for recruitment and training? What are the current challenges of human capacity development? Institutional Cooperation: Are national training institutions able to collaborate and create synergies to improve the delivery and impact of training programs at a national level? Development Cooperation: How can development cooperation and aid better cope with emerging challenges in MENA countries? Will synergies between technical assistance and training be created? What is the scope and prospects of South-South cooperation in the area of capacity development and knowledge transfer?
