The training programme is aimed improving the organizational capacity to establish effective policy and strategy for sustainable development of agricultural and rural areas. The main objectives of the programme are: Objectives: a) To enhance understanding on agricultural and rural b) To share the success stories of rural development and economic growth in Korea; c) To disseminate practical knowledge and transfer technology concerning rural d) To exchange views on increased income generation and improved living environment for better quality of life in rural areas; and e) To strengthen future cooperation with the participating countries through capacity building in rural development The programme targets the officers/functionaries working in the field of agriculture and rural development in central, provincial/state and local level government departments/organizations in India. The purpose of their capacity development is to enable them to work on strategies and measures meant for sustainable agricultural/rural development. The SARD programme will be based on class room lectures and field visits. The programme details are enclosed, herewith, for Excellency's kind information. After the successful completion of the SARD training programme, a follow-up workshop and field visit will be organized in India sometime in October 2018. programmes and the experts from KOICA. The purpose of organizing the follow-up workshop would be to evaluate the impact of SARD training programmes on the participants. It is hoped that the Joint Fellowship Programme would be immensely useful to Excellency's esteemed Government. It is requested that nomination of suitable candidates may kindly be obtained from the India states to be nominated. In view of the importance of their role in the development process, women candidates will be given due consideration. Excellency may kindly arrange to nominate a maximum nineteen (19) suitable candidates working in the relevant field for participation in the programme. Based on past experiences of dropout of candidates, a few more suitable candidates may be nominated as alternative. Essential Qualifications: Must be under 45 years of age; Having a minimum of three (3) years experience in the field of agriculture /rural Be a government employee in middle-level managerial position, such as director or deputy director; Having good command over Spoken and Written English to actively participate in the programe and write an action plan; Having the capacity to show a high level of participation and commitment throughout the course and promote capacity building in his/her organization after the completion of the program; Expected to be working in the relevant field for at least one year after this training; Not having participated in the KOICA fellowship program in the past 3 years; and Participation of women candidates would be encouraged. Entitlements of the Participant: >. Both ways international airfare from the New Delhi to Seoul, Republic of Korea and back on economy class/excursion fare by the shortest possible route. Air tickets will be issued directly from the Republic of Korea; Board and lodging expenses at the Training Centre (excluding expenses on laundry, phone calls etc.); Tuition fee, books and literature; and Expenses on local travel within Republic of Korea on study tours/field visits. Under the AARDO training fellowship, out of pocket allowance, expenses on obtaining passport, visa, airport tax and any other expenses, which are not covered under the fellowship, are not admissible. The nominating country government may consider providing sufficient funds to enable its candidate to meet such expenses.
