Hardin County Rotary Club Annual Scholarship Award The Hardin County Rotary Club has established an annual scholarship program to benefit high school seniors attending Hardin County High Schools and reside in Hardin County. Purpose : To assist high school seniors who are continuing their education beyond high school at an accredited institution and to help someone who might otherwise not be able to pursue additional education. Award: Three $500 scholarships will be awarded to three graduating seniors attending Hardin County high schools and residing in Hardin County. Scholarship must be used within 12 months of date of issuance. Eligibility: The applicant must be a high school senior attending a high school in Hardin County and residing in Hardin County. Applicants may be required to be interviewed at the discretion of the Hardin County Rotary Club Scholarship Committee. No student will receive any special consideration regardless of organization, church or civic affiliation. Required with the completed application are an essay, reference letter and copy of applicant s transcript. All questions on the application must be answered, must be signed by the applicant, their parent/guardian, the guidance counselor and dated to be considered for an award. Essay will be a minimum of 250 words and not to exceed 500 words. The essay topic is Service Above Self ~ What Does That Mean To ME. Essay must be type written. Additional information concerning special/unusual circumstances should be described in a separate attachment. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award by May 5, 2017. Winning recipients must attend Hardin County Rotary Club end of the year banquet in June. Recipients will be asked to make a short presentation at the banquet. No advances on awards or increases in award will be made by the scholarship committee. Hardin County Rotary Club Scholarship Committee reserves the right not to issue an award if no applicant adequately fulfills the requirements. Hardin County Rotary Club Annual Scholarship Dear Counselor, Hardin County Rotary Club is pleased to announce our 3 rd Annual scholarship award presented to high school seniors attending any Hardin County High School. The senior must reside in Hardin County. These scholarships are made possible by different fundraising events. One $500 scholarship will be presented to three graduating seniors attending Hardin-Jefferson, Kountze, Lumberton, Silsbee and West Hardin. Attached you will find the information regarding the scholarship along with the application. We have included ten (10) copies but should you need more, please feel free to make additional copies.
