FOR YOUR INFORMATION 8225 Wesley Dr. Brooksville, FL 34601 (352) 799-1644 www.wesleyanvillage.org Ken Heer President Gary Tesh Office Manager Keith Allion Treasurer Carol Weller Assistant to the Treasurer Randall Schenkel Event Coordinator Nancy Heer Property Manager Betty Taber Administrative Assistant Caroline Staley Receptionist Wesleyan Village is a Christian community for senior adults where residents can live in a safe, clean, wholesome and attractive environment that contributes to their spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational wellbeing. You might be interested in a few bits of information about Wesleyan Village: The Village consists of approximately 275 acres of land on which there are 401 housing units, several ponds, at least 4 gators, a pair of osprey, many turtles and innumerable wild birds. We are a naturalist s paradise. We are licensed for 101 mobile home and 42 RV spaces We maintain our own streets, water, sewer and trash pickup There are seven developed sections in the Village: Epworth Estates, Shepherds Court, John Wesley Manor, Phillippe Park, RV Park, Wesley Commons and Wesleyan Homes. It is estimated that we have 300-350 year-round residents and around 700 during peak season. A recent annual survey was conducted with 72 persons responding. Of those who responded 69.4% owned property and 30.6% were renters 49.2% were year-round residents and 50.8% were seasonal Ages of the respondents were: 60-65 (5%), 65-70 (2.7%), 70-75 (20.8%), 75-80 (29.1%), 80-85 (18%), 85-90 (19.4%), 90-95 (4%) Church Affiliation of respondents were Baptist (2), CMA (3), Free Methodist (1), Independent Christian (1), Nazarene (1), Presbyterian (2), United Methodist (2) and Wesleyan (52) Of the respondents, 31% have lived in the Village less than 5 years; 46% less than 10 years; and 54% more than 10 years. Five percent have lived in the Village more than 30 years. Among the things people said they liked most about the Village: friendliness, dining hall, library, beautiful campus, exercise classes, activities, church service, Christian fellowship, new friends, values and standards, swimming pool, music, Bible studies, security, weather, support group, meals, prayer cells, coffee shop, and nature trail. By far, the friendliness of the residents stood out as most liked. A few items were noted that need attention and a lot of good suggestions were offered for future development. Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey. In 2016 our Camp Meeting is scheduled for January 12-17 and our Bible Conference for March 8-13. Next season our dining room will open November 3 and close April 5. Wesleyan Village is a diverse community which adds to its richness. We all love the Lord and find a way to work through our differences of perspective and preferences to honor Him and make Wesleyan Village a wonderful place in which to live. Ken Heer
