Full-Tuition Scholarship Saint Joseph's University, in affiliation with the Eagles Fly for Leukemia Foundation, has joined the fight against cancer by granting a full-tuition scholarship to an incoming freshman who has survived cancer in his/her lifetime through strength, courage, and determination. To apply for the Eagles Fly for Leukemia Scholarship, please plan to submit the following documents: An essay/personal statement that documents your illness, including the timing, treatment, and how this illness has affected you. A letter of recommendation from a doctor, nurse, or other medical professional, who can elaborate on your illness, treatment, and recovery, as well as your character. If a student is interested in applying for the full-tuition scholarship to Saint Joseph s University, we recommend that they begin by applying for admission to the University at sju.edu/apply by our Early Action deadline of November 15 th or our Regular Decision Deadline of February 1 st in conjunction with applying for this scholarship at sju.edu/scholarships and completing the FAFSA by February 15 at fafsa.gov. Drexel University Full-Tuition Scholarship Drexel University, in affiliation with the Eagles Fly for Leukemia Foundation, will award one fulltuition scholarship to an incoming freshman who has survived cancer in his or her lifetime. To be considered for the Eagles Fly for Leukemia Scholarship, the following materials need to be submitted: An application for undergraduate admission along with high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, two letters of recommendation, and CSS Profile must be on file with the Admissions Office by January 15, 2016. A completed scholarship application indicating your intention to apply for this scholarship and an essay/personal statement documenting your illness, its timing and treatment, and telling the scholarship committee how this illness has affected you must be submitted online at http://drexel.edu/drexelcentral/finaid/grants/special-interest-scholarships/ by January 15, 2016. The Eagles Fly for Leukemia Scholarship is renewable for each year of the recipient s undergraduate degree program, provided that he or she is enrolled in a full-time-day undergraduate program at Drexel and is in good academic standing at the end of each academic year. The Eagles Fly for Leukemia Scholarship is applied to annual tuition only. It is not applied to room and board, annual fees, or partial tuition rates. The recipient is ineligible to participate in the Drexel Legacy Grant, Family Grant, or any other tuition based grant program. If the recipient files the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and becomes eligible for other financial assistance, the amount of this award will become part of his/her total financial aid package. Notification of other financial assistance will be separate from notification of the Eagles Fly for Leukemia Scholarship.
