February: Gaspard (Grad Gowns Company) Keep Canada Green Online Scholarship Contest For students who have a passion for the environment. Please check out the website for all the details. www.keepcanadagreencontest.ca Value is: $2,500 IODE Coronation Bursary - Alberta Student must have financial need and be entering a degree program in Alberta in the fall. Must reside in Alberta for the past 3 years. See Mrs. Vant Erve for the form in Counselling. Value: $1,000 The Canadian Association of Principals 2017-2018 Student Leadership Award Students have to be involved both in the school and community. Major application form. Please check the website to download the form. Value: $250.00 Deadline: prior to March 1 st, 2018 March: St. Mary s High School Student Awards The application forms are available through the Counselling office in March. All information about these awards and scholarships are listed on the application. Please hand in the form to Mrs. Delgado in the Counselling office. Alexander Rutherford High School Achievement Scholarships These scholarships are based on your grades from 10, 11 and 12. You must apply for them during your grade 12. Deadline: March 13, 2018 Dr. Ed O Connor Scholarship St. Francis Xavier University (Nova Scotia) For Alberta students applying to St. Francis Xavier University. Must have good grades, athletic achievement, demonstrated leadership and service as well as financial need. Students must have demonstrated active participation in extracurricular activities both in school and the community. Garfield Weston Merit Students entering a College for the first time may apply. Fill out the application form online. Grade average must be a 75% or higher, passionate about the area of study pursuing in College, volunteering and extracurricular involvement need to be listed. Kirpal Kaur Dhindsa Scholarship Students must have a good work ethic, values education and has shown improvement over their time in high school. Essay is required. School may select 2 candidates to apply. You must be attending post-secondary in the fall of 2016. Students must be enrolling into a University program in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math programs. Have an average of 85% over the last 3 terms of high school. Demonstrate leadership within the school and or community. Also, has financial need. Value: $25,000 - $6,250 year X 4 (yrs.) Calgary Italian Sportsmen s Dinner Association Scholarship Open to grade 12 male students of Italian descent who have been involved with athletics at the school and or community, above average grades, involvement in leadership and service. Student has exemplary citizenship, possible financial need, and will be registering at a postsecondary institution for the fall of 2016. Letters of reference are required. Pick up a form in April at the Counselling office. Value: $5000 Deadline: May 1, 2017 Application must be reviewed by Mrs. Vant Erve in counselling prior to submission. Calgary Catholic Teachers ATA Local #55 Teacher Memorial Honor Roll Scholarship/Bursary Student must have one parent who is a member of the ATA Local #55. Above average grades, involvement with extracurricular and letter of reference from a teacher. For the bursary, student must submit evidence of financial need. Pick up an application form in the Counselling office. Value: $700 Deadline: May 9, 2018 (Must be mailed in prior to the deadline.) Calgary Public Teachers, ATA Local #38 Alberta Teachers Association Local 38 Scholarship Award Students must have one parent who is a member of the ATA Local #38. Minimum overall average of 80% in 5 grade 12 courses, letter of reference and registered in a post-secondary institution full time in the fall of 2016. Pick up the form in the Counselling office in April. Value: $800 Deadline: May 31, 2018 St. Mark s Catholic Women s League Bursary For female students that are practicing their Catholic faith, have been involved with their Church and community, has financial need and an academic average of 65% and higher. Must have 2 teacher references, 2 personal references and one letter from the applicant detailing personal background and educational plans. Pick up a form from the counselling office. June - St. Peter s Catholic Women s League Education Bursary For a female student that is a practicing Catholic and attends St. Peter s Parish. Student must submit a personal letter, transcript, letter of acceptance from a post-secondary institution, letters of reference from teacher and community member. Pick up a form from the Counselling office. Value $1000 Deadline: June 1, 2018 Calgary Calabrian Cultural and Heritage Society Student must be of the Calabrian descent, graduated from High School, letter of acceptance from a post-secondary institution, transcript, exemplary citizen, list of school and community activities, essay. Pick up the application form in the Counselling office in June. Value: $2000 Deadline: September 30, 2018 Abruzzese Cultural Association of Calgary This academic scholarship goes to a student of the Abruzzi descent. Student must have a high academic standing and provide proof of enrollment at a post-secondary institution. Letters of reference and official transcripts will be required. Pick up the form in the Counselling office in June. Value: $5000 Deadline: September 30, 2018 Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program Students must submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page site: http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm. Nelson Civic Leadership Scholarship Students must have a minimum average of 80%, complete an essay and have significant volunteering within their community that has made a difference for others.
