Strategic goals for the next 5 years» Approaching the ideal network composition and format» Providing evidence for the success of the ERN concept» Solving the reimbursement challenges

Network composition and format» Current situation:» 24 networks covering almost all thematic areas defined by the Commission Expert Group on RD» More than 950 health care providers participating in the different networks» 26 different endorsement strategies» 26 different strategies of identifying national HCPs» Broad range of the number of full members per MS (2 187; 3 MS with no FM)» Broad range of the number of full members per ERN (18 73)

Success of the ERN concept» Objectives and tasks:» Development of an evaluation and monitoring process for ERNs and participating full members» Requirement from the legal documents and task of the (Commission Implementing Decision)» Active support and participation of Member States (WG on evaluation and monitoring, BoMS)» Active involvement of ERN coordinators» Evaluation of the networks and full members after 5 years by an Independent Evaluation Body

Reimbursement challenges» Objectives and tasks:» Obeying the commonly decided reimbursement procedures and rules by all Member States regarding physical cross-boarder healthcare» Development of a reimbursement scheme for virtual cross-boarder healthcare» Uncharted waters ( Neuland ) for the EU» Need for a cost analysis of virtual care» Experience and data from pilot networks» Based on the cost analysis exploration of suitable instruments for reimbursement
