Introduction The Chaffey College Health Science Demographic Survey was completed by 22 CNA students over the Chaffey College Internet on September 20 th, 2012 during the Fall 2012 Semester. The purpose of the survey was to obtain information required for Accreditation. Executive Summary CNA Students Demographics of CNA Students (Please refer to Table 1.) 95.2% were California residents 90.5% were female 47.7% were 20 24 years old, 14.4% were 25 29 years old, and 9.5% were 30-34, and 19.2% were over 35 years old at the start of the term 19.0% were Hispanic and 19.0% were African American Characteristics of CNA Students (Please refer to Table 2.) 47.6% had at least one dependent living with them 22.7% were single parents 45.5% travelled 10 miles or less from their home to Chaffey College, 36.4% travelled 11-20 miles, and 18.2% travelled more than 20 miles 52.4% were not employed, 33.3% were employed 20 hours or less per week, and 14.3% were employed 21 or more hours per week 63.6% were eligible for Financial Aid 50.0% were receiving Financial Aid or a Scholarship Health Care Work Experience (Please refer to Table 3.) 20.0% had previously worked in the Health Care field Student Ratings of Preparedness (Please refer to Table 4.) 95.5% of the CNA students agreed or strongly agreed with the following statement: In the classroom I am comfortable with most subject matter. 95.5% of the CNA students agreed or strongly agreed with the following statement: I feel welcomed into the health science program.
