AGENDA Below is the final agenda for the Soybean Breeders Workshop (SBW) including the schedule for special meetings and workshops. If you have any comments regarding the agenda or workshop, please contact Andrew Scaboo (scabooa@missouri.edu) and we will try and accommodate. REGISTRATION AND WEBSITE Please visit the SBW webpage ( http://soybase.org/sbw/registration/index.php ) at SoyBase.org for details about the 2016 Soybean Breeders Workshop. On the website, you can register for the meeting, book hotel rooms, register for the poster session, and download the latest agenda. Onsite registration will be in the Versailles foyer on Monday (10:30 am 5:00 pm), Tuesday (7:00 am 5:00 pm), and Wednesday (7:00 am 10:30 am). SOCIAL EVENT AND POSTER SESSION There will be a social event and poster session during the evening social hour on Tuesday February 23 rd in the Versailles 2 room from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Anyone is welcome to display a poster. There will be a graduate student poster competition, sponsored by the commercial soybean breeders, during the poster session and CASH prizes will be awarded Wednesday morning (1 st place = $200, 2 nd place = $100, and 3 rd place = $50). Posters prepared for other meetings such as ASA and PAG are welcome. Please visit http://www.soybase.org/sbw/registration/posters.php for more information. RETIREMENTS, RECOGNITIONS, & ANNOUNCEMENTS The floor is open to announcements at the specified time Wednesday morning. Please contact Andrew Scaboo if you would like to schedule the recognition of a colleague or make other announcements from the floor. PANEL DISCUSSION As a participant in the 2016 Soybean Breeders Workshop, you are cordially invited to attend a panel discussion sponsored by the Monsanto Women in Plant Breeding Network on Tuesday morning February 23 rd, from 6:45 am to 7:45 am in the Alpine I room. The title of the panel discussion is Skills to pay the bills: Success in a Modern Workplace. Panelists serve in positions from several agricultural companies and universities. The panel discussion will focus on interviewing, effective communication, navigating a matrix environment, networking, problem solving and critical thinking to promote modern professionalism. Please plan to get your breakfast provided by the workshop and bring it to the meeting room where this discussion will take place, and please come prepared to enjoy an early, discussion-filled morning. USB COMPOSITION WORKSHOP In 2016, the USB Seed Composition Workshop (USBSCW) will be directly after the Soybean Breeders Workshop (SBW) and thus begin Wednesday February 24 th at 11:00 am in the St. Moritz/Bern room. The USBSCW is open to the public and all participants in the 2016 SBW. There is no additional cost for attending the USBSCW and hotel rates will remain the same as for the 2016 SBW. The USBSCW will run until 11:00 am on Thursday February 25 th, 2016. The draft agenda for the USBSCW follows the agenda for the SBW.
