Worldwide Small Business Indicator (SBI) The Worldwide SBI serves as a benchmark to increase the missions utilization of U.S. small businesses. The SBI was piloted in FY 2013. The SBI is a key metric for the Administrator s Leadership Council (ALC). The FY 2015 SBI target is 10% Definition: The proportion of USAID s total worldwide prime acquisition dollars obligated to U.S.-based small businesses. Current Initiatives to Assist SBs USAID Forward Operational Reforms - Local Solutions Initiative -- OSDBU Director Chairs Work Stream 3.3 Increasing Competition & Expanding our Partner Base Internal Bureau Level SB Goals Set for Domestic Awards Starting in FY 2016, Overseas awards will count towards official agency SB goals so USAID will begin setting regional worldwide targets Mandatory SB Training for CO s, CS, and COR s - One day training began March 2012, 750+ trained so far in DC and at 19 missions in Latin America, Africa, Asia, E&E 17
