GVHBA requires all project information to be submitted by Friday, May 19, which includes completing the editable PDF project form on the following page, and high-resolution before-and-after photos. Also, the FortisBC street team may be at one of the homes and/or may create an interactive activity (eg. chef doing an in-home cooking with natural gas demo) if your home is selected, we will let you know the full details. Testimonials from Past Participants: Why the Parade Works for Their Businesses Reid Developments has participated in two "Parade of Renovated & Custom Homes" tours and each time it was for very different projects. Our first parade was in 2015. We had completed an extensive renovation retrofitting an East Vancouver home for a client in a wheelchair. We found that many people did not have the vision to see what is possible in some of the older Vancouver homes and it helped for them to come in and view a completed, full scale project. In 2016, we had a new custom home featured on the tour on the West Side of Vancouver. Again, we had an amazing turn out with great feedback direct from the public. It was interesting having the conversations that we did and we ended up getting several projects in the area. All in all, we found the Parade is a great way to allow many potential clients to see your projects after completion and all in one day. Viewing a whole home and seeing the workmanship and quality that they will receive, is far more powerful than any website, virtual view or explanation at an office over a set of plans. We highly recommend participating in the Parade of Renovated and Custom Homes. ~ Mike Reid, Owner, Reid Developments Ltd. As a participant in the GVHBA's Parade of Homes for 10 consecutive years, we are once again excited and looking forward to 2017's event. This is the one annual event that we plan towards every year as our key opportunity to showcase our workmanship up-close and in-person to the community. Even our clients look forward to this and will often volunteer their homes without us even asking them. They take pride in having their home on the Parade. As a GVHBA member this is also an opportunity for our membership to showcase the work that separates us as professionals from all the rest, and is a great advertisement for our association as a whole. From manufactures and suppliers to trades and designers, everyone benefits when they participate. The more homes we have on Parade, the bigger the public draw -- Let's all work together to make this the biggest and best Parade of Homes ever! ~ Graeme Huguet, President, My House Design/Build/Team Ltd.
