A Word from the Chair The strength of an association is its ability to develop and adapt to new challenges year to year. With a new team, new goals and an unprecedent ambition, the STIL today has every chance of becoming an institution in the associative field. It is with great pleasure and honor that we ve decided, this year, to take over the direction of the exhibition to guide it to a certain success while keeping the convictions and the identity of this event which are dear to us. All guided by the same passion and our desire to promote innovative entrepreneurs, we would like to thank those who enable us to organize this event and hope to see you for the 2018 edition. - The Committee Board
The STIL Lausanne s Innovation and Technology Exhibition (STIL) aims to be the next interactive billboard of the latest technologies and scientific research. We regroup entrepreneurs, investors, high profile speakers and visionary people. Its goal is to promote Innovation and Scientific Creativity allowing companies and public to discover pioneering ideas in an interactive way. Taking place at the SwissTech Convention Center on the EPFL Campus, STIL is a unique event which gathers the actors of Innovation. It offers an ideal opportunity to discuss and share ideas among multidisciplinary and curious minds in an enhancing environment. In general terms, our drive is to convey the image of the Swiss and International economic landscape as being open to entrepreneurship and innovation. The Association 16 student committees from EPFL 5th edition in 2018 Academic Recognition Beyond the civil status, our association is recognized by EPFL (The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne). As an accredited student association we respect the ethical charter of EPFL as well as the directive governing EPFL's societies. As an association on the campus, we are fully integrated in EPFL's student life and participate in most events on the campus. Moreover, we have developed partnerships with other universities and colleges in the region (EHL, UNIL) during intercampus events.
The Day Breakfast: a moment to meet and connect with other exhibitors before the exposure opens its doors. Exhibitors can discover their colleagues stands during this period. The exhibition opens from 10am to 6pm. The exhibitors hold interactive stands and present their technologies to the audience. Some short talks are also given in two conference rooms during the entire day. At the end of the day, sponsors, exhibitors and speakers get the opportunity to network around a drink. The Audience The exhibition attracts a lot of people from a wider public thanks to a high visibility in Lausanne and because of the proximity of the campus, a significant share of the audience is students. The Exhibitors We offer the basic stand to start-ups and EPFL laboratories as our goal is to promote new technologies. Therefore, a large part of our exhibitors is made of start-ups (65%). We consider this significant amount of start-ups as a strength of our event.
