The Value of Work Experience Work Experience How To Apply: South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust recognises that work experience placements offer valuable opportunities that can encourage individuals to consider joining the NHS team. SSSFT realises how important work experience is, not only to students, but also to the Trust as a whole. SSSFT is always looking to the future in order for the organisation to develop and grow. Specialist Learning Disabilities This service provides care to adults in South Staffordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin localities. A range of community and outpatient services are offered for people with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. Veterans Mental Health Services This service offers specialist advice, support and understanding in regards to mental health problems that affect our veteran population. Veterans Mental Health is predominantly based at St George s Hospital in Stafford, Staffordshire. OUR CORE VALUES 1. People who use our services are at the centre of everything we do. Arts for Health Services Arts for Health work with artists, musicians, writers and other creative professionals to deliver stimulating activities for Service- Users. Arts for Health are often closely involved with any new building or refurbishment projects at the Trust and also run an art competition every summer and organize exhibitions. Services are based in Stafford and Shrewsbury. Community Mental Health Teams: Community Mental Health Teams provide assessment and treatment to adults who experience moderate to severe mental health problems across Shropshire and Staffordshire. Teams are based across South Staffordshire, Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin. Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams: Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams provides a service for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis that is having a detrimental effect on their mental health and who are at risk of an admission to hospital, owing to their mental health and/or associated risks. Memory Services Our Memory Services aim to provide a high quality service for adults over the age of 65 in the acute care setting and who have a diagnosis of dementia or who appear to be suffering from a degree of cognitive impairment. Memory Services provide support and advice for people suffering from possible early onset dementia through to sudden onset of confusion caused by physical illness (delirium). The teams are based across South Staffordshire and Shropshire. Mother and Baby Perinatal Service The service provides assessment, treatment and care for women (18+) suffering from mental health problems associated with pregnancy and childbirth including severe post natal depression and puerperal psychosis. Brockington Mother and Baby Ward is located at St George s Hospital in Stafford, Staffordshire. Prison In-Reach Services The Prison In-reach Service provides mental health services to a number of local prisons. The team provides an assessment and treatment service including the transfer of people with severe mental health problems to the wider NHS and interventions for those with mental health problems whilst in custody. Services are based in Stafford and Shrewsbury.

Inpatient Services Pine Ward Pine is an inpatient facility which provides care and support to patients from the age of 18 years upwards. Pine Ward is located at the Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Inpatient Services Holly Ward Holly Ward is an inpatient facility which provides care and support to older people. Holly Ward is located at the Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Inpatient Services Laurel Ward Laurel is a mixed acute adult inpatient facility which provides support and care to patients from the age of 18 upwards. This facility is used as an assessment unit. Laurel Ward is located at the Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Inpatient Services Oak Ward Oak Ward is an inpatient facility which provides care and support to older people. Oak Ward is located at the Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Early Interventions in Psychosis The Early Intervention Team (E.I.T) works with young people experiencing their first episode of psychosis. The aim is to catch people developing psychosis early and work with them in a variety of ways to enable them to cope with the experiences they are having. Eating Disorders This specialist service treats adults (17+), both male and female, with severe eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. The service offers various types of treatment options, therapeutic treatments, medical monitoring, dietetic advice and support and advice for carers. Services are based in Stafford and Shrewsbury. Forensic Mental Health Forensic Mental Health Services provide a local, high quality and specialised support for Mentally Disordered Offenders, i.e. patients who have committed a criminal offence. Services are based in Stafford and Shrewsbury.

The Ward is located at St George s Hospital in Stafford, Staffordshire. Inpatient Services Norbury Ward Norbury Ward is an inpatient psychiatric intensive care unit, providing care and support to patients 18 years upwards. The Ward is located at St George s Hospital in Stafford, Staffordshire. Inpatient Services Brocton Ward: Brocton is an inpatient facility which offers care and support to patients from the age of 16 years upwards. The Ward is located at St George s Hospital in Stafford, Staffordshire. Inpatient Services GBC West Wing The West Wing provides care and support to patients from the age of 18 years. The West Wing is located at the George Bryan Centre in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Inpatient Services Bromley Ward Bromley Ward is an inpatient facility which offers care and support to older people (aged over 65 years). The Ward is located at St George s Hospital in Stafford, Staffordshire. Inpatient Services GBC East Wing The East Wing is a dementia unit which provides care and support to older people. The East Wing is located at the George Bryan Centre in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Inpatient Services Chebsey House Chebsey House is an adult inpatient facility which provides care and support patients 18 years upwards. Chebsey House is located at St George s Hospital in Stafford, Staffordshire. Inpatient Services Birch Ward Birch is a female inpatient facility, which provides care and support to female patients from the age of 18 years upwards. Birch Ward is located at the Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
