13 th BIENNIAL CONFERENCE REGISTRATION INFORMATION JULY 7 11, 2013 Registration Overview: Please register on or before February 1, 2013 to take advantage of the Early Bird Registration Fee and save $100.00 USD. A registration form is included with this flier, or you may download it from the IASE website at: www.iase.org. E-mail confirmation will be sent upon receipt of your registration. Please note that no credit cards will be accepted on-site. Conference Materials: Conference materials may be picked up between 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the IASE registration desk, in the Lobby of the Instructional Resource Centre (IRC) on the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus (see attached map). Accommodation Options: The Conference Committee has arranged for accommodations at two facilities. When making your reservation, indicate that you are attending the conference of the International Association of Special Education IASE. Rates are good for July 7 through July 11, 2013 as well as three days before and after the conference. Both hotels will accommodate your travel needs. UBC Housing 145 rooms have been reserved at this beautiful UBC campus. Costs range from $47.00 (Canadian dollars) for a single room to $179.00 (Canadian dollars) for a large suite. The group rate will apply for three days before and three days after the conference. A buffet breakfast will be included as well as having easy access to all events. Book your rooms on our website: www.iase.org Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre: Rooms are available at a rate of $145.00 per night (Canadian dollars). The hotel also offers the group rate three days before and three days after the conference. Breakfast will be extra and you will have to take public transportation to get to UBC. Dean s Reception, Gala Dinner, and Auction: The Dean s Reception, Gala Dinner, and Auction are included in your registration fee. The Dean s Reception will be held on Sunday July 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Museum of Anthropology on the UBC campus. The Gala Dinner is on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Traditional/cultural dress is encouraged to represent your country. Following the Gala Dinner is our biennial live auction. Please bring an item from your country to contribute to the auction. For more information on auction items contact: Dr. Marcel Lebrun at: mrlebrun@mail.plymouth.edu. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Marg Csapo Scholarship Fund. You will not want to miss this night to reunite with IASE delegates, meet educators from throughout Canada and the world, savor a fine dinner, bid on auction items from around the world, and enjoy local entertainment. Transportation: You will likely arrive at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, about 12 km (7.5 mi) from Downtown. If you are going downtown or to the Holiday Inn you can use the Skytrain, the Aeroshuttle (to hotels), a limo, or a taxi. To access the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus take a taxi, a limo, or the Canada Line. The Canada Line is a new rapid transit rail link, first you travel in the direction of Waterfront Station and exit at Oakridge 41 st Avenue Station; and then you have to walk across the street to the northwest corner of Cambie Street & 41 st Avenue; finally you catch the #43 or #41 bus, to UBC campus. Children's Art: This conference will showcase children's art projects from various provinces and cultures.
