Working with artists at all stages of their careers and various communities Artsadmin education creates projects that provide spaces where new approaches to being in society and the environment can be activated and nurtured. We work with young people as artists aged 16 25 through a programme of projects, events and individual support services.
We do this through: Supporting our youth board to deliver a programme of creative, professional development for other young artists and support in delivering training for cultural organisations in running youth boards and panels. Producing artists projects with a strong emphasis on alternative learning, communities and social/ environmental justice. Curating a programme for and with young people including the annual month-long summer project. Working in partnership with colleges and universities across east London offer workshops and support in introducing a diverse range of contemporary performative work.
ASSISTANT EDUCATION PRODUCER JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible to: Salary: Hours of work: The Assistant Education Producer will work as part of the team at Artsadmin and will be responsible to the Education Producer. 3780 fixed fee (equivalent of 23400 pro rata or 90 per day) 8 hours per day between 10:00am-6:00pm. 2 days a week between Monday-Friday. This post can include out of office hours such as evening and weekend meetings and events. If additional hours are worked no overtime will be paid, but time off in lieu can be taken by arrangement with the Education Producer. This role is 2 days a week (days to be confirmed) and provides support to the Education producer (who works 3 days per week on Monday-Wednesday) on the delivery of specific aspects of the Education programme from 27 July 18 December 2015. The role has a specific emphasis on: Supporting the delivery of the summer project Make Space led by Nic Green Supporting all administrative aspects of the department. The Artsadmin Youth Board Supporting the set up of the Austrian and South African tours of Phoebe Davies Influences project General Programme Maintain and develop strong working relationships with artists and people involved in participatory arts activity Support participants in their professional development Undertake research to develop partnerships with FE, HE and the wider cultural sector Liaise with other organisations, community groups and individuals in order to support creative and educational local partnerships. Arrange and minute meetings Coordinate participant feedback and assist with the evaluation and reporting of the programme and activities. Provide administrative and hands-on support for projects Recruit participants for projects Maintain and update project plans and diaries Support in operating project budgets and process invoices Youth Board Act as a primary link for the youth board, the wider Artsadmin team and key strategic partners.
Support the youth board in the delivery and development of the youth board programme both on and off site. Make Space Support both artists and participants in workshop settings in the office and on site. Scout and book project spaces in conversation with artists and Education Producer Create and maintain a project archive Marketing & Communications Liaise with Marketing Officer on targeted email campaigns / educators email / social media campaigns and any print production / distribution Administrate and update participant Facebook groups Coordinate documentation of projects including distribution of all print and videos. Press liaison, including photographers and film makers for all projects PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Skills / Experience: Able to create an inclusive and open environment to ensure the programme is accessible to marginalised individuals and group Experience of working with artists, tutors, teachers and other outside agencies in creating participatory projects. Knowledge of working with a wide range of participants, groups and communities. Excellent verbal and written communication within education and arts sector, working with a diverse range of people. Good knowledge of IT, particularly MS Office software, Photoshop, InDesign and editing software A high standard of organisation and efficiency Numeracy and budgeting skills Desirable skills / experience: Interest in/ knowledge of the work of Artsadmin A knowledge of and keen interest in art education and contemporary visual and live arts, performance, digital and time based media. Knowledge of supporting the Arts Award Programme Awareness of child protection issues, and an understanding of health and safety, equal opportunities and access issues. Working knowledge of the East London community and local education networks.
