Jawahar Engineering College, a sprig of Stree Seva Mandir was established in the year 2010. It is situated in 3 acres of sprawling space in the heart of the city Saligramam. The college offers the following 5 under graduate programmes: Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Information Technology. The vision and mission of our college focuses in imparting quality education in Engineering and Technology, and to make better citizens of tomorrow. The association activities are as follows: A guest lecture on ETL information and overview was given by Mrs.Vasavi and Mrs.Krishnadevi, Informatica Developers, CTS and Infosys respectively to the students of IT department in September 2016. A guest lecture on Software Testing was given by Chidambara Kumar, Team Manager, CTS to the students of IT department in March 2017. A National level Technical symposium was conducted by the Department of Information Technology in the month of February 2017 inaugurated by Mr.Sylvester Daniel, Senior Architect, Mindtree Limited and felicitated by Mr.Rajmohan, Vice President, Infoview Technologies. 1
II, III and IV year students of IT have undergone an industrial visit to Baabtra.com, an animation company, Kozhikode in October 2016. International Conference on Organization of Science and Innovative Engineering and Technology (OSIET) was conducted in April 2016. The following training programmes have been arranged for our students: 14 students of final year ECE have undergone Training and Internship Programme on Embedded Systems in Texas Instruments. R.Tamilmagal of final year ECE has undergone internship programme in TNPDS. P.Devaraj & S.P.Adithya of II year Mechanical have undergone internship programme in ICF, Perambur. B.Kishore & K.Meganathan of II EEE have undergone inplant training in Oneyes Technologies. B.Kishore of II EEE has undergone inplant training in Kaashiv Infotech. S.Bhakyaraj, P.Nallasivam and Elamparuthi of III year Mechanical have undergone Inplant training in Chennai Port Trust. P.Vinoth, N.Sathish Kumar, U.Sugumar & P.Vinoth Kumar of IV year Mechanical has undergone Inplant training in Chennai Harbour. 14 Students of IV year Mechanical have undergone Inplant training in Chennai Port Trust. 2
Mr.M.Hanumantharao, Dept. head-institution alliances from TIME institute has presented a Seminar on Competitive exams for higher education to third year students of all departments in March 2017. ` 3
Apart from regular curriculum, our students are also encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities. Hemalatha, Jaleela Begum and Karthick of final year IT have won 1 st prize in nontechnical events of national level technical symposium INDCON 17. Deepika of IT department has participated in a national level technical symposium and won 1 st prize in encryption and decryption event. N.Khadeer & B.Kishore of II year EEE have won 1 st conducted by St.Joseph Institute of Technology, Chennai. prize in Circuit debugging B.Kishore & K.Meganathan of II EEE have won 1 st prize in technical connections held in Sriram Engineering College, Chennai. B.Kishore of II year EEE has won 1 st prize in technical quiz in a national level technical symposium organized by SRM University, Ramapuram. B.Kishore & K.Meganathan of II EEE have presented a paper in a national level technical symposium organized by Velammal Engineering College. B.Kishore of II year EEE has won 1 st prize in technical innovation held in Velammal Engineering College, Chennai. Aswini and Gayathri of final year ECE have presented a paper and won 2 nd prize in Technical Symposium organized by New Prince Engineering College. 5 students of 2 nd year ECE have won prizes in Technical Quiz and Circuit Debugging in National Level Technical Symposium. 4
9 students of final year ECE has attended a workshop on UNIX. B.Kishore of II year EEE has attended a workshop in Ethical Hacking conducted by Microsoft Research Community. In order to foster the team spirit among the students we give equal importance to sports also. Our students have come out with flying colours in Anna University tournaments. R.Thulasi Raman of I Year mechanical has been awarded 1 st prize in Independence day cup - college level throwball championship held in Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Chennai. R.Thulasi Raman of I Year mechanical has been awarded 3 rd prize in state level throw ball championship conducted by Tamilnadu throwball association in Tirunelveli. 6
The YRC unit of Jawahar Engineering College have conducted the following activities: As an initiative to support Go Green campaign, saplings have been planted in association with Indian Bank in the college premises on 1 st March 2017. To emphasize our Prime Minister s Swachh Bharat Mission campus cleaning activity has been carried out. On the eve of constitution day, quiz and oratorical competitions were conducted. An awareness program was conducted with regard to vigilance week. To invoke patriotism in the minds of students, we celebrated Independence Day and republic day in our college. A medical centre has been inaugurated in the college premises for the welfare of students, staffs and to the general public on 9 th February 2017. 7
International Women s day was celebrated on March 8 th 2017. Dr.Jayashree Sharma, a consultant obstetrician and Gynecologist, addressed the gathering on Women s health and dietary advice. Graduation day was celebrated on 11 th March 2017, chief guest Dr.S.Ganesan, Registrar, Anna University, addressed the candidates and distributed the degree certificates to the graduates. Totally 61% of the graduates were awarded the bachelor degree. 8

Our faculty members are encouraged to attend various faculty development programmes and workshops: Mr.J.Parivendhan of Mechanical Engineering has attended 6 weeks course on entrepreneurship development programme for machine manufacturing at NSIC, Guindy in nov-dec 2016. Mr.G.Francis of Mechanical Engineering has attended a Faculty Development Programme organized by Sastha Institute of Technology in January 2017. Mrs.B.S.Charulatha of Information Technology has attended a one day workshop in National Summit on Advancement and Automation of Accreditation for Higher Education in India in February 2017. She has also received the best paper award in International Conference on Advanced Computing & Communication system in January 2017. Mrs.J.Ashwini of Information Technology has attended a Faculty Development Programme on Grid and Cloud Computing in 2016. Also she has attended a workshop on Visualization: Models, services, standards and applications at Anna University in March 2017. Mrs.G.Jayanthi of ECE has attended a Faculty Development Programme on Applied Soft Computing in Anna University in June 2016. She has also attended two days workshop on Computational Intelligence techniques in October 2016. Our faculties have presented papers in various journals and conferences: Mr.R.Saravanan of Mechanical Engineering has published a paper in Digest Journal of Nanomaterials & Biostructures in January 2016. 11
Mrs.J.Kalpana of Chemistry Department has published a paper in Materials Research in 2016. Mr.C.Ezhilazhagan of ECE, has published a paper in Middle East Journal of Scientific Research. He has also presented papers in International Conference on Sensing, Signal Processing and Security and in IEEE International Conference in 2016. Mrs.G.Jayanthi of ECE, has published a paper in the Journal of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Mr.R.Sivasubramanian of Information Technology has presented a paper in International Conference System in 2017. Mr.Hariharan of Physics department has presented a paper in International Conference on Challenges in Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering in December 2016 and also in National Conference on Advanced Function. Mr.V.Rajesh Kumar of Physics department has presented a paper in National Conference on Advanced Function. Mr.Ananth of Industrial Engineering has presented a paper in International Conference on Emerging trends in Materials and Manufacturing Engineering and received a certificate in March 2017. 12
Our faculty members have designed and developed the following Machines and Engines: Mr.J.Parivendhan, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering has designed Centerless Grinding Machine. Mr.J.Parivendhan, Mr.Mohanavelu, and Mr.Nixon Sindurajan of Mechanical Engineering have jointly designed a Data Acquisition System from Engines. Mr.A.B.K Rajan Associate Professor and Mr.Nixon Sindurajan of Mechanical Engineering has designed a Double Acting Steam Engine. Mrs.Aswini Assistant Professor of Information Technology and Mr.Nixon Sindurajan of Mechanical Department has developed Linear actuator programmed with Visual Basic Dr.B.Rajan, Professor of ECE has designed and developed the equipments for Communication and Embedded Systems. Our college website has been designed and developed by Mr.J.Nirmalraj, Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering. 13
