On the next screen, click on the [Submit Profile] button. Existing Users: Log-in to the system using your Username and Password Click on [My Account] and select [My Profile] to make updates to your profile. THE TABS ACROSS THE TOP My Account: Update My Profile You will see sections containing Personal Information, Demographic Information, and Additional Information. Click the [Edit Profile] tab at the top of the page to update information. You will also see an [Edit] link next to each section that allows you to jump to the specific section you select to update. Carefully go through each section and complete all of the fields making sure to click on the [Save] button. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). NOTE: The more complete your profile, the better your opportunity is to connect with employers. Under My Documents This is where you will upload your resume, transcripts, and other documents requested by employers. Click on the [Add] link to the right of the category heading. Page 1

Click the [Choose File] button to find and select the correct document. Give your document a name, (i.e., Current Resume). Click the [Upload] button. NOTE: When uploading more than one document, make sure your most marketable resume is your default. You can change your default to a different resume when you have made changes specific to a certain position. Remember to change back your default so you don t accidently upload the more specific resume for other positions. Your default resume is the document that employers may view when accessing our system if you have selected Yes to Allow Employer Viewing under My Profile/Additional Information. My Activity My Activity tracks what you do in Career Connect. Here s what you ll find under each of the tabs: Referrals: Recorded each time your resume is sent to or viewed by an employer. Schedules: Displays all of your interview activity. The [Preselect] tab provides more information regarding interviews you ve landed. Event Registrations: Displays your submitted RSVPs for events listed in Career Connect (i.e., for info sessions and etiquette events when required) Survey Responses: View any surveys you have pending or have completed. This includes Co-op assignments. Job Agents: See the results of your saved job searches and job searches you ve set up to email you with new job postings. Co-op/Internships: View current and past Co-op/Internship employment information. Employer Search: View a list of all employers currently registered in Career Connect. Search for a specific company. Use the Advanced Search to narrow your search to companies seeking your major, a specific city and/or specific state. NOTE: To the right of each company, headings indicate [Jobs] posted, interview [Schedules] available, and career [Events] companies are hosting/attending at UND. Job Search by Applicant Type: There are 5 ways to search the job file by the following Applicant Types: Co-op or Internship Search Degree Required Employment UND Research/Undergrad Credit UND Research/Undergrad Paid All Applicant Types (shows a list of all positions posted in Career Connect) NOTE: The Applicant Type on your profile is important because it connects you to jobs with that same Applicant Type. Convenient [Advanced Search] Features: Search by keyword. Major. Classification (those companies looking for juniors, seniors, alumnus, etc.). Applicant Type. Page 2

Job Location (type in a city and see what comes up). Job ID (if you see an advertisement about a position in Career Connect, just enter the job ID to find it). Click on job titles to see specifics of the position and how to apply. See a job of interest in your search results? Click on [ Add To Favorites] at the right of the job title. This will save the job in your [ My Favorites] on the green task bar on the left of your page. If there is a [View Interview Schedule] button, you will find a schedule linked to this job. You may qualify to upload your resume for an interview opportunity. If you find a [View Event] button following the company listing, this will show you if the employer is attending an upcoming Career & Internship Fair or other event. In the screenshot below, there are [Save Search] and [Email me new Jobs] options at the bottom. Save Search: After you have added criteria under the [Advanced Search] and clicked [Search], you are able to save this search so you don t have to enter the criteria again. Click [Save Search] and enter a name. Your new search can now be found under [Saved Searches] in the green task bar on the left of your page. E mail me new Jobs: Choosing this option creates a Job Agent. Job agents will send you an email when any new/updated jobs matching this search are available. You can access your existing job agents in My Activity. Page 3

Here s a screen shot of what an email could contain when you set up a Job Agent: Partner sites are also available next to the [Jobs] tab, under the predefined search for Co-op and Internship. Check out Internships.com and Indeed Jobs to expand your job search. (see yellow, highlighted area below) On-Campus Interview Opportunities: Under the [On-Campus Interview Opportunities] tab, click on [Your Major]. You will find a list of company interview schedules that match your applicant type, classification, and major. If no schedules a listed, there are no upcoming schedules that match your applicant type, classification, and major. If records are listed, click on the Schedule ID/Job Title to learn more. From the Schedule screen, clicking on the [Request Interview] button submits your default resume for consideration for an interview. Therefore, you must have a resume uploaded to make this request. Deadlines vary for each interview schedule. Page 4

If you choose [All Majors], You will see a full list of companies offering interview opportunities on campus. Click the Schedule ID/Job Title to view the job(s) linked to each interview schedule. To request an interview, you have to go to the [On-Campus Interview Opportunities] tab and click [Your Major]. You must have a resume uploaded in Career Connect under [My Account], [My Documents] in order to request an interview. After clicking on the Schedule ID, if you cannot see the [Request Interview] button, this means you do not have a resume uploaded or you do not match the company's qualifications for applicant type, classification, and major in your profile. Events: Find a list of: Tables at the Union: Stop by and visit with the recruiter about career/job opportunities. Info Sessions: Companies come to campus looking for you.
