TRAINING PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION Preface TRAINING PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION FILE NUMBER (TPFN): DINFOS-CCLC TITLE: COMBAT CAMERA LEADERSHIP COURSE TRAINING LOCATION: Defense Information School, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland SPECIALTY AWARDED: None PURPOSE: Trains selected officers and senior noncommissioned officers in the principles, techniques and skills required to perform the duties and functions of a combat camera officer or senior non-commissioned officer. COURSE DESCRIPTION: The Combat Camera Leadership Course focuses on identifying the mission and functions of COMCAM to include: the development of operational support plans, budgets, equipment/systems maintenance plans, policy and procedures, imagery management plans, and training plans. It also includes in-depth theoretical and working knowledge of how COMCAM functions within the Department of Defense. TARGET POPULATION/PREREQUISITES: Service: USA USAF USN USMC USCG Prerequisites: Officer O-1 through O-4 on assignment to or at 55 th Signal Company (Combat Camera) or 982 nd Signal Company [Combat Camera (Airborne)] Enlisted 25Z on assignment to or at 55 th Combat Camera or 982 nd Sig Co with waiver E-6, 25V, 25M, 25R in a leadership position Officer AFSC 35P; O-1 through O-5 (PA officers projected or on assignment to AFCC Squadron) Enlisted E-6 and above AFSC 3N0XX Officer O-1 through O-4 (USN 1650) Enlisted E-6 and above (MC rate) Officer 4602 WO/CWO/LDO (Combat Camera Officers) Enlisted 46XX E-6 and above (Combat Camera Chiefs) Officer INF Enlisted E-6 through E-8 PA COURSE PREREQUISITES: Services: N/A 3

FUNCTIONAL AREA 1 Combat Camera Unit Operations TRAINING OUTCOMES: UNIT 001: Combat Camera Orientation Students will participate in discussions concerning the role of combat camera within the Department of Defense, gaining a greater understanding of the combat camera leader's responsibilities for supporting Commanders' intent in accordance with DOD, Joint and Service directives, regulations and instructions. Students will gain an understanding of Joint and DOD operational policies and procedures and discuss combat camera's role in information operations. UNIT 002: Combat Camera Deployment Preparedness Students will review emerging trends in the areas of equipment, technology and standards. Students will discuss COMCAM local policy, standard operating procedures, training and budget planning, and brief their training and budget plan. Students will discuss COMCAM contingency operations planning. Students will respond to a request for forces and prepare and brief the Appendix 11 to Annex C of an operations order. This includes creating a COMCAM imagery management plan for contingency operations. UNIT 003: Combat Camera Field Operations Using the references given, students will discuss methods used to determine imagery acquisition requirements in support of the commander's operational objectives. Students will discuss operational field reporting requirements to include preparing a situation report, and an after action report, as well as preparing and briefing a fragmentary order. Students will participate in discussions on Joint and Service lessons learned program. 5

FUNCTIONAL AREA 2 Course Administration TRAINING OUTCOMES: UNIT 001: Course Administration During this time student records will be created, updated and archived. Students receive course orientation, complete surveys, perform individual out-processing, and practice and perform a formal graduation ceremony. 6
