Accelerated Disaster Training Model: Disaster Health Response Workshop UAMS College of Nursing Community Health faculty adapted American Red Cross (ARC) Disaster Courses. Condensed four ARC disaster courses into two clinical days: Introduction to Disasters, First Aid, Shelter Operations, and Disaster Health Response
Building Professional Networks and Increasing Community Surge Capacity Students receive certificates for the ARC course completed for entry into volunteer record Students have the opportunity to register as official Red Cross Disaster Health Services volunteers as of April 2011 with Enhanced Service Delivery Model Red Cross Chapter builds their nurse volunteer pool and increases community resiliency for future disaster response
