Ground-breaking new partnership in China Joint school to deliver world-class teaching and research in engineering: Based in Chengdu, China. Building on the award-winning strengths of the University of Leeds in engineering and transport. Opened in September 2016. To recruit 1,200 of the brightest high school students in China over four years. Approx. 5m revenue p.a. to Leeds from joint school. This partnership will cultivate global talent and build strong connections between the UK, China and other parts of the world, addressing future skills requirements and opening up new research opportunities. Our students launched 48 start-up companies last year. 1,200 undergraduates took an enterprise module in 2014/15. 63 student start-up companies have been incubated in the last 4 years. Currently we have 37 student enterprises in the first dedicated student business incubator.

Each and every one of our staff and students will engage with the principles of sustainability. 73% of our staff travel sustainably to work 49.7 million of research income came from sustainability-related research themes In 15/16, 5,600 undergraduate students studied sustainability as part of their degree programmes
