Tommy Sutton came in to relieve starting pitcher Dan Quackenbush in the top of the sixth inning with runners on first and third with no outs. Sutton struck out two of the three batters he faced to get Southeastern out of a big jam and earn the save for the Fire. Sutton was named Tournament MVP as he went 1-0 over nine innings with a save, allowing no runs and three hits while striking out 10 batters. Ronnie Hedrick went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Fire while Will Gonzalez went 1-for- 1 with an RBI and two walks. Dan Quackenbush got the win on the mound for the Fire as he pitched five strong innings, allowing just one run. Southeastern (45-17) repeated as the NCCAA II National Champion, going 8-0 in the national tournament the past two seasons. Toccoa Falls pitcher Jonathan Engel pitched a great game to keep the Eagles close throughout. Engel pitched six innings, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out four Fire batters. Jeff Crosby went 2-for-3 while Adam Ivester went 1-for-3 with a double for Toccoa Falls. Southeastern will now go to the NCCAA I South Regionals in Clearwater May 4-6 and then will host the NCCAA I National Tournament in Clearwater, May 17-20. 2005 Invitational THURSDAY, APRIL 21, 2005 First Round Southeastern College 11, St. Louis Christian 0 Hillsdale Free Will Baptist 13, Toccoa Falls College 0 Clearwater Christian College 3, Mid-America Christian University 2 Atlanta Christian College 14, Lincoln Christian College 4 Second Round Atlanta Christian College 6, Clearwater Christian College 4 Mid-America Christian University 15, St. Louis Christian College 1 Southeastern College 7, Hillsdale Free Will Baptist 0 Lincoln Christian 5, Toccoa Falls College 4 Third Round Hillsdale Free Will Baptist 8, Mid-America Christian University 4 Southeastern College 9, Atlanta Christian College 0 Clearwater Christian 10, Lincoln Christian 5 Toccoa Falls 21, St. Louis Christian 0 Fourth Round Hillsdale Free Will Baptist 7, Atlanta Christian College 5 Southeastern College 17, Clearwater Christian College 1 Championship Game Southeastern 17, Hillsdale Free Will Baptist 9 Southeastern wins NCCAA II National Invitational Tournament 2005 All Tournament Team Adam Rogers Southeastern College Catcher Chance Chaopman Mid-America Christian University Catcher
